5.0 out of 5 stars The best self tanner that I have found...
I have used at least a dozen different self tanners including lotions, sprays, and foams - both grocery store and department store brands. This is easily my favorite. 1.0 out of 5 stars Turned me orange!
I have really been surprised at the great reviews this moisturizer gets on many sites I've been on. Usually when I see a product that has gotten great reviews and only a few whiners and complainers, I assume that the product is probably pretty good and that the complainers are just difficult people. Well, I'm not a difficult person, but it's possible I have difficult skin...

I have used at least a dozen different self tanners including lotions, sprays, and foams - both grocery store and department store brands. This is easily my favorite. It provides a gradual, natural, BROWN tan (not orange or fake looking). It is very easy to use, doesn't streak, and doesn't smell bad as many others do. I actually started using it while on vacation and I really thought that I had a natural tan (which I try to avoid, being over 30 and fair skinned), but after continuing to use it when I returned, I realized that it was the product. As I am posting this review, I am replenishing my supply and I hope that Coppertone will continue to produce this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not perfect, June 3, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've tried MANY different sunless tanning products and can say that this is definitely the best I have tried. It is the only one I feel comfortable using consistently. I have very fair skin, and it gives a natural looking brown color (not yellow, not orange) after a few applications. It goes on fairly lightly, so it's very forgiving and doesn't streak, but you need to use it often to get a deep color. It smells pretty strong at first, but it's not a completely repulsive smell like some other tanners, and it seems to go away much quicker too.

The only reason I gave this a 4 star rating instead of 5 is because, even though it's the best I've found, it's still not without flaws (why can't I find the perfect tanner??). First, as I stated before, it does smell. Not too bad, but I wish I could find a tanner that doesn't smell at all and has a decent color. Second, the color doesn't last very long. If I want to keep up the color, I find myself going through bottles very quickly. Finally, and most importantly, it does stain. It is not nearly as bad as some of the other tanners, but white clothes and bed sheets will turn a faint brown color. I haven't been able to wash it out either. For this reason, it's extremely important to let it dry completely before coming in contact with white clothes or bed sheets (it takes about 30-45 min to dry completely for me). If it weren't for these flaws, this would be the perfect tanner, but for now, the color it gives and the ease of application outweigh the negative aspects. It's definitely better than anything else I have found so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, February 22, 2007
Like the other person said, this is a good product. It doesn't streak, and the tan looks really natural. also, its not stinky unlike alot of sunless tanning lotions. Great product I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY...., July 8, 2007

After reading the other reviews on this site as well as a few others I decided to try this product. I used a homemade exfoliater in the shower (baby oil mixed with sugar) and then put this on with some latex gloves. I am so happy I tried this. I am very pale to begin with so streaking is a big problem with most tanners...not this one. There was no darker areas around my ankles and knees. The color was brown, not orange. And no streaking. It was very easy to apply and I love the fact that I can build on the tan instead of jumping from translucent to over baked! I am finally happy with a self tanner...and the price ain't bad either!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff, June 27, 2007

I love this product! This is my second order of it. You apply and forget it. Great color, you can even skip a day or two if needed. It smell pretty good not like other stinky tanners. Doesnt wash off or bleed onto clothes. Fades very well and evenly. The color is a nice coppery color not orangy or lizzard like. Definently fool-proof!

4.0 out of 5 stars Natural Tan Look, January 1, 2008
I don't usually use sunless tanning products since the ones I've tried in the past always turned an orange color. I was really skeptical at first, but based on the reviews on this and other sites, I decided to try it. This product definitely makes you look tan. I don't usually get a deep tan when going to tanning salons, so I tried this in addition to tanning to get a deeper looking tan (prior to going to Hawaii). I was very pleased that it definitely gives you a natural looking tan. The smell was a little different at first, but I've gotten so used to it that I really like it now. You do have to make sure you spread the lotion evenly, otherwise you'll see lines. And I disagree with one of the reviews that said it doesn't get on your clothes...maybe if you wear black or brown, then you can't tell the color came off. But, when I wore some white lounge pants, a white tank and even when I wear my white bra, the color does come off some. It doesn't stop me from wearing the product, but it is kind of annoying (and it DOES wash out). I will buy again.

I really like this tanning lotion b/c it is very easy to use and there is not any streaking. Another big thing is it doesn't have a strong odor at all and the price is not bad either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works really great, July 17, 2008
I'm not very good at applying sunless tanner, but this stuff looks really flawless on me! It hasn't streaked, and doesn't change my color so drastically that I can't easily cover a spot I missed. It smells a little funky, but it's not a big enough issue for me to not use it. I've never turned orange from using this tanner.

5.0 out of 5 stars The one thing you need to know? IT WORKS, February 7, 2008
It works, and it works well. It is a gradual tan that looks natural, you do need to make sure your very thourough putting it on though, failure to do so can leave unwanted results

This review is from: Coppertone Sunless Tanning Moisturizing Lotion, Gradual Tan, 9-Ounce Pump Bottles (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
A friend recommended this tanning product to me. My skin is white-I mean, WHITE. And this time of year, I really want to have some color. I don't have time to lay out, tanning beds scare me and the spray tan is expensive. So I tried Coppertone and I love it! Apply it just like a lotion and wash your hands real good when you're done. After two applications, I had a mild tan! The first day, I think because I wasn't used to it, I did feel a bit orange... but the next day it looked awesome. I felt confident enough to wear a skirt. If you want an easy, inexpensive tan, this is the way to go!
