Excellent Collection, January 23, 2010

This is a great album. There have only been a few albums like this issued over the years, and I think this one makes a great showing! It has pretty well all of the best of the best old Dirty Blues songs. The audio sounds a lot better than other places where I've heard some of these same songs. There's been plenty of noise taken out and cleanup, but they don't have that digitally sound that some old blues records have after restoration. All in all for a 1 disc compilation this does a great job of introducing someone to these great, raunchy, old tracks. I also liked that the price was pretty reasonable, as most other collections have tended to be more pricey. If you're interested in this kind of music this same label also put together 2 other albums titled "Those Dirty Blues" Volume 1 and 2. They feature a couple dozen other tracks along the same lines which I would also recommend for further exploration!
