Great Photographic Techniques - Look Elsewhere for Digital, February 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Copying And Duplicating: Photographic and Digital Imaging Techniques (Kodak Publication) (Paperback)
This is an excellent source of information regarding photographic techniques to copy and duplicate photographs, negatives, and art work. The detail at times (such as discussion of the relationship between the logarithm of the exposure in lux second and the resultant density of various copy films) is far more technical than I needed; however, that can be easily skipped over. Practical suggestions regarding the use of various filters to improve photographic results are easy to understand. The section on equipment that can be purchased or made to create various copy stands was very helpful. There are many before and after photographs that show techiniques to improve the copying of damaged and faded B/W photographs. If you are looking for something regarding digital techniques for copying and duplicating, there is very little here. Only 13 pages are devoted to this subject. Although the information is useful, the digital chapter was apparently just tacked on to update this 1996 edition from the original 1984 printing.
