We LOVE Coraline and I can't part with the doll, but it's pretty useless without a face, or even worse, without eyes.

Her body is sort of hard to move at first but, she will loosen up.

I went to see Coraline in the theaters with my friend, and we both loved it! We could'nt stop laughing, and when my dad showed me the doll one morning, I was so excited to get her as a doll! Everything about Coraline is really cool because when you put her in the sun it looks like her hair is glowing! Her rain coat is made really well and her hood fits perfectly over her head and her boots even have a little bit of mud on them! There is no shirt underneth her rain coat so if you want one you will have to find one on your own. You might have read in other reviews that you can take off her face and there is a skull underneath. Really underneath is just the inside of her head. You can move her eyes but be careful because you could scratch the paint off her eyes. Her body is sort of hard to move at first but, she will loosen up. She is really skinny so it might be easy to brake her, so I wouldn't recommend her for anyone under 10 years old. Coraline is my favorite doll I have, because of all her unique features and I can't wait to get the other Coraline bendy dolls!

The above paragraph was written by my 10 year old daughter. I thought you might like to hear a review from a childs perspective. I did take the liberty to correct a few of her spelling errors!

I got this as I dig character design and like the film and book. I guess the best way to review this is to consider the audience for which it is and is NOT ideal. It's a middle of the road model/toy from a quality standpoint. It is not a plastic rip off by any means but it is not a professional figurine where you have great control over all elements of the model.

I don't even think I would consider it a toy versus a doll that you would perch somewhere simply to appreciate it's aesthetic value. Overall, it is well made but there is no body underneath the raincoat so do not get the idea that this is going to be a cuddly sort of toy for a youngster. And for those of you who collect figurines, you will find that the wires or metal in the arms are a bit ungangly. In most of the images that I saw of it, her arms were crossed and she was in an ideal pose. I tried to get it to that pose only to find that I was worried I would break it. Crossed arms and leaning is a tough pose for this young lady...at least with this model :). But I did get it to that and nothing dire occurred.

The only watch out is that the eyes can be off. You can move them by using the eraser end of a pencil so that you do not scratch or mar it. That was my experience anyhow. Otherwise, I was pleased with the model and still dig the design.

I think this doll would be great for any fans of the movie Coraline, but regular doll-wise it's nothing special. So, I'll be reviewing it from the viewpoint of a Coraline fan.

Stars explained:
Fun: Five stars because you can pose her, which is really fun.
Educational: Three stars because it gives you a look into how the film was made (i.e. the removal and replacement of faces in order to show an expression)
Durable: Four stars because of the bendy arms, which sometimes feel a bit brittle if you push them too far.
Overall: Five stars. A great replica of Coraline.

Pros:
+ It looks exactly like the movie version of Coraline. I mean, really, if you take a picture of this thing it's like you snuck on the set and snapped a photo of the real deal. That's a major plus.
+ The face isn't hard to remove, but it won't fall off on its own. I think the face-removal is a great feature because it makes it possible to move the eyes on the doll. If you like taking pictures of dolls in silly poses (guilty heehee), the moving eyes grant a lot of possibilities.
+ The materials used for her clothing feel realistic. Her raincoat is slick, her jeans are rough, and her boots are smooth (there's even mud on them!). It just adds to the feeling of authenticity.
+ The paint job is fantastic. None of her freckles are smudged, her lips and eyebrows are very nicely painted, the skin is very even, and the amount of blush is perfect.

Cons:
- Her hair is... translucent. A little funky. They did a good job with it not showing her skull and all, but... translucent? Really? Luckily it isn't so obvious in pictures.
- The bendy-ness could be a bit better. It suits her because she's so skinny, but actual joints would be nice.

Got this for my daughter after seeing the movie and she loves it. It is very small, but a collectible size and very well made looking just like the character. Not a doll for a small child, more for a teen who wants to put it on a shelf and admire.

i just got mine today right along w/ the other 2 and they're FANTASTIC!! raincoat's raincoat is actual raincoat material and it has a draw string that ACTUALLY WORKS!! let alone the boots being awesomely detailed w/ mud!! she has no feet though, just pegs, but that's ok. she also comes w/ a stand and the raincoat hides the "arm" fairly well. i highly recommend this!! the face is more of a sly face than a happy face
