First published in 1987, The Le Corbusier Guide has been a favorite with architects and Le Corbusier aficionados for ten years. Available in several languages, it is the premier guidebook to the work of Le Corbusier, and the most affordable and careful reference to his built work. This edition has been completely updated by the author and includes a new introduction, additional entries, factual corrections, and an updated bibliography that reflects recent scholarship on Le Corbusier.?

?The Le Corbusier Guide features photographs, plans, and precise descriptions of over 70 of Le Corbusier's extant buildings in Europe, Japan, Russia, Africa, India, and North and South America. An essay by Alan Plattus and a biographical note introduce the reader to the life and ideas of this great architect. This review is from: The Le Corbusier Guide (Paperback)
A most valuable reference. The descriptions provide insight into both the conceptual and literal origins of each work. Locales are well described. Nearby works by other early modernists are mentioned together with addresses. Though it is well worth reading on it's own, it is an excellent companion to larger books by authors such as Jencks.
