I've worn jump boots basically every day for about ten years, for their unparalleled looks and comfort. After a while, features stand out. Once you go side-zip, there's no going back. The same is to be said about lightweight soles.

Problems I get with boots is that they bite the heel, or burn up my legs with their heaviness, or that socks slouch down into the boot, or that the zipper creeps down. None of this happens with this boot.

The problems with this boot are standard for jump boots. The leather around the snap for one of the zipper covers snapped, making it useless, and I cut it off. The sole split from the boot, which happens with 9/10 pairs of boots, so shoe goo is a winner.

The leather is the best i've seen, very shiny, very easy to shine. The soles are suprisingly light, making for very light boots, tough, but offer little traction. They squeak on hard linoleum and steel. They aren't warm in cold. They aren't cool in heat. I feel they are the coolest looking boots available, second to the discontinued exposed steel cap gripfast.

** update: It's been a year. For a few months i only took them out for special occasions. I got a respectable job now, so i wear em every day instead of dress shoes. Hidden under pants for months, the pant legs will buff the boots to a unbeatable shine along the uppers. Snappy looking. No further failures. The tread was insubstantial, now it's basically smooth.
