While the product does technically function, it won't give you a warm fuzzy feeling. I ordered three of these, out of those, only one will allow cords to plug all the way into the tap. The other two will only allow a plug to be inserted approximately halfway, leaving exposed contacts. Cheaply constructed and not particularly safe.

The outlet is fine for what it is. My only real issue is that the 3 of these that I purchased came in a bulk box - clearly cheaper than being individually packaged - which is GOOD, but the pack of center screws that secure the outlet to the wall were not checked. They were all TOO SHORT to clear the depth of the outlet, let alone reach the wall. Details matter ... not paying for packaging is a bonus, but having to hunt down usable parts is not.
P.S. A version in white would be Great!

Apparently there are a number of sellers for this item, so I will say up front that mine came from Brian's Toys, for $5.47, and was apparently fulfilled by Amazon as the shipping was free with Prime.

Like most households, we have an assortment of other multi-plug taps, but I like this type very much behind furniture against a wall where a regular tap will just make the plug stick out farther. I've tried several versions of taps that "fold" so the plugs lie flat against the wall, but if you are moving plugs around, I find those taps tend to wiggle. I want a fan in the summer and an electric blanket in the summer, but usually have to take the whole tap out of the receptacle in order to swap the plugs around. Even my older units were much more sturdy than than the folding taps.

I've had two taps similar to this for a number of years, and I keep having to move them around the house to where I most want them at the moment. My old ones are ivory, have only one set of live prongs with the other set being plastic, and don't have the option to screw into the receptacle. These are gray, have two sets of live prongs, and can completely replace your wall cover by being screwed into the receptacle which gives a much firmer attachment. No, the screw as not included. However, I am perfectly capable of stopping at the hardware and buying a screw, so I don't really care. I'm not thrilled with the gray color either, but behind furniture it doesn't matter, and it could be painted if it were in view.

So, yes, I'm very pleased to have found these at a reasonable price. I got several so I won't have to be moving them around any more!

Photo does not match the product. The mounting screw is not included (scroll way down in the ad and look at the fine print in the description).

I finally employed this gadget after owning it for several months and was glad I had it, the wall receptacle I used has one socket controlled by the wall switch so three of the outlets (those on the right side) are controlled by that and the other three are live.

Purchased it to fit behind a piece of furniture close to the wall. The ground plug is not very strong, don't use it where you have to plug/unplug often. But if you have an outlet behind a couch or dresser and need to inset plugs flush against the wall, it's either this or a right-angle extension cord. This does the job for me, I have no need to screw it into the outlet.

I have a new house, and was trying to find a way to better use the outlets that I have behind several pieces of furniture. If you plug cords in normally and then slide furniture back against them, then the cords can get bent at odd angles. This bending at the wall outlet and at the other end has caused multiple power cords of mine to develop shorts where they quit working or only work when the cord is in 1 exact position. That usually means I have to get a new cord which is a pain the butt when I just want to use my device.

Looking for a solution, I got on Amazon and found several side entry plugs. Seemed like an obvious idea and I am still not sure why more companies don't offer these, so I decided to try some out. After reading reviews and weeding out the ones that sounded like they had obvious problems, I picked these and bought a couple. Order arrived and I looked em over and installed em on the wall outlets to either side of my bed where we have bedside tables placed directly in front of the outlets. They installed easy and so far, work well.

This product has 2 sets of prongs, which plug into both plugs on the wall and hold it quite securely. In some of the reviews I read of competing products, people did not like the others since they only had 1 plug to go into the wall. The problem with this that others had was that it wasn't stable and kept wanting to fall out of the wall. Another complaint was that you now had all the load from however many devices you plug into it (up to 6) going only through a single set of prongs into the wall. Heating and overloading the circuit were concerns that other products didn't address. This particular device avoids that problem though.

i have older (but functional) outlets in visible areas of my home. buying a nice new outlet and coverplate is $3 plus 20 minutes of installation including mucking around with the breakers. with this, you unscrew the old coverplate, plug it in and secure it with the provided screw. genius! it looks clean and new, even if the color is not a perfect match. i bet it can be carefully painted also.
