I gave this guitar 5 stars but in truth it could have been slightly less. Amazon.com on the other hand gets a solid five star rating for their handling of the problems and subsequesnt return of two of these guitars (having to return two of these guitars would be my reason for downgrading the guitar a bit) before sending me a third replacement. They were vry nice about it and went out of their way to make everything right even upgrading the shipping to overnight. The first guitar was a disappointment. It looked like a factory second with brown spots in the wood and noticeable discoloration at the seam where the two top halves met. The case had a one inch tear along the edge as well. The second guitar was better but still not great. The wood used for the top was not the quality I expected and the battery box was hanging loose. Also the action or string height on the first two guitars was a little high and they way they were put together there was not much room to remove material from the bottom of the sadle in order to lower the strngs.

The third guitar is a keeper every way. Nice wood, it sounds great (actually all three guitars sounded very nice)and the string action was very low.

These guitars are designed for Cordoba by Kenny Hill who is known for using modern construction and modern features(long overdue in nylon string guitars in my opinion)and this guitars design follows that concept and as a result it is very pleasing to play. Despite the samller neck, the truss rod, radiiused fingerboard and soft cutaway the guitar otherwise has a very traditional sound and has surprising volume. The B-Band two-part blended pickup system is also very nice. The best I have seen installed on a factory guitar.

First the Cordoba from Amazon is not shipping with the advertised hard case. It came with a cloth Gig bag. The bag was nice, but much cheaper than the hard case that was supposed to ship. I reordered after Amazon assured me that the problem had been resolved, but second order had same soft case.

Fit and finish varies greatly. The first guitar had rough fret wires, stripped battery case screws, and stain from the rosewood body bleeding onto the neck. Second guitar was much nicer, but the electronics did not work.

The guitar is quite nice to play. The sound of nylon with the feel of a steel string. Overall I would compare this package with a guitar like Washburn that is in the $400 - $500 range.

Sounds like crap because it is not solid top. You can CLEARLY see it made from 2 separate parts. This is rediculas that at this price it is not solid top especially because the specs say it is.
Cordoba really dropped the ball on this one.
