Fun to shake, but not to read., August 6, 2008
This review is from: Corduroy's Buttons (Board book)
To be fair, my son likes to shake the buttons about, but I do not enjoy reading it for the following reasons:
1. It is heavy. I can throw 4 other Corduroy board books in the diaper bag for the same weight.
2. Awkward to hold. Related to the weight.
3. Buttons are cardboard. I mean, couldn't they be real (or at least real-looking) buttons?
4. Better for an older child. Because it's a board book, it seemed like it would fit with the other books (Corduroy's Day, Corduroy's Party, etc.), but it's all a series of comparisons of hte size of buttons, which my 1.5 year old son can appreciate if he can HOLD the buttons, but he can't understand that from a picture.
5. Print type. The strangest font was used in this book, and it is very hard to look at!
Verdict: possibly recommended for an older child, but much better "comparisons" books out there.

Fun! Fun! Fun!, January 6, 2009
This review is from: Corduroy's Buttons (Board book)
My 2 yr. old granddaugher loves Corduroy and she loved this book. She was alittle frustrated that the buttons didn't come out, but once she figured that out, it's become a favorite.
