Prediction of drug action requires a thorough knowledge of both natural and applied sciences, making pharmacology one of the most challenging subjects for those embarking on careers in the health sciences. Assuming no prior knowledge, Core Concepts in Pharmacology presents a comprehensive, interdisciplinary perspective drawing upon core concepts of anatomy, physiology, and pathology to make drug therapy understandable. An essential book for anyone entering into an allied health occupation, it is appropriate for a stand-alone course or as a resource for anyone looking for a refresher.
Features Include:

As a paramedic student taking an intro pharmacology course on the side, I found this text to be quite applicable. The overview of conditions prior to the explaination of current drug therapy provides a suffient reference for the reader to understand the basics of why certain pharmacological therapies are used. In addition, the CD animations provide a useful graphical description of specific drug mechanisms. I found this book to be a great overview and introduction to the subject.

This review is from: Core Concepts in Pharmacology (2nd Edition) (Paperback)
Condition was as described, but definitely not better than expected. Ordered for a summer class and new edition already out, so over-payed for this book. Can't sell back to vendor or school buy back programs. Might try to sell on e-bay... but lost money. Did make an A in the class though. Shipping not fast, but not slow either.
