This review is from: Core Concepts in Physiology (Paperback)
I am studying for the CCRN test and don't really like the nursing study books for this. I find that most of them just don't read like a book and I just don't study well from them since they appear to be more like notes I would take from a class, only I don't get the benefit of sitting in the class so I might as well be reading my neighbors notes from a class I missed. Anyway, in order to get a refresher on the basics of physiology I ordered this book which was recommended by a doctor friend of mine. This is one of the best books on physiology I've owned. It breaks down physiology into body systems with easy to read and understand text and pictures. It's definitely not dumbed down--you'll be better off if you've taken a physiology class before and have a basic working knowledge of physiology, but even if you don't you'll be able to understand what is being taught. This book will give you all the basics without going into so much detail you'd need to be a physiologist to understand.
