Book Description

Below the flesh, creeping behind bone, in secret places of the spirit, lie wounds.
These wounds, these sin stuck wounds, they self-protect, they build walls, they leak venom. We deny the truth when we live out of our wounds. We believe lies.

And lies make us slaves.

But there is hope. We can learn how to identify these destructive lies and then begin to root them out so we can see the truth clearly.
In uncovering our lies and dealing with them we will find the freedom to be who God intends us to be; we can live authentically. The transformation from wound-living to freedom-living will allow us to love God and love others without fear.

Let’s begin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Soul wounds and emotional triggers September 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Core lies is a beautiful, practical booklet about soul wounds and emotional triggers.
"Emotions are not a problem in and of themselves, but they can be indicators of a problem. Emotions can be like smoke signals that warn us there is trouble, so if we pay attention to the "signals" they can be of great service to us in revealing our lies."
And what are 'our lies?'
That answer seems to be something different for each person.
"A Core lie is something we believe that resides so deep down inside of us that it has almost become a part of our personality."
"The lie/lies that are ingrained in our hearts dictate much of our emotions, thought processes, and choices because we have believed them so faithfully."
"Core lies are deeply rooted beliefs that are not true."
So what is so bad about these lies? I mean really... what sort of a practical effect does this sort of thing have on my life?
"Core lies block us from loving God and loving others."
What?! How?!
"Because I had believed this lie, I thought I wasn't good enough for God. So I turned to performance, people pleasing, and perfectionism. I turned to self-reliance and self-righteousness. I tried to justify myself because I didn't deem myself good enough for Grace. I turned to using things like condemnation and shame to keep myself in line. Is it any wonder I couldn't help but parent my children the same way, even though I longed for something better?"
"I think I am not good enough (belief), therefore I must be perfect (goal). In order for me to accomplish perfectionism I have to be controlling (behavior). When I am not in control, I get angry (emotion) when others don't meet my expectations."
"Attached to every lie is an emotion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Step-by-step. January 26, 2012
By Susan
Format:Kindle Edition
I happened upon Core Lies by accident, but after reading it, I knew that it was God's leading. The title intrigued me because of some of the things I've been dealing with in my walk with Christ. The book was exactly what I needed to read--clear, concise, and offering a way of discovering and responding scripturally and prayerfully to the hidden lies we believe in our daily lives. To be able to name the lies as lies, and understand that living in their grip is not what Christ has for us, was very freeing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Miss This! November 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Why did it take me so long to get around to reading Sarah Mae's first book? I'm a practical gal, so I snatched up "31 Days to Clean" and "How to Market and Sell Your Ebook" in a flash, but I thought a 'devotional' could wait. Um, how wrong I was. First, in thinking that any book written by Sarah Mae wouldn't be full of practical advice and I-can-do-this action steps, and secondly, in thinking I didn't need to address my core lies. The book was awesome, just what I needed, and a direct answer to prayer. Don't miss this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read !!! February 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Sarah has put to words what I could not. This is an eloquently written devotion that actually shows you how to live the life that Christ offers to us on this side of Heaven. Once you understand and apply the scriptually sound process you can actually begin living "maintenance free" in many areas of your life. By this I mean you won't have to avoid situations that trigger you as they will no longer be triggers. You offer your false beliefs up to Jesus and He replaces the lie with His truth - thus no triggers. For additional information on this type of ministry google Sozo or Theosphostic Prayer Ministry. God is ready to really heal His people. Don't be left out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Insightful quick read March 10, 2013
By Melonyk
Format:Kindle Edition
There were many thought provoking ideas introduced in this book. The thought that we subconsciously live out our lives now based on core lies that began forming in childhood is deep and worth some prayerful pondering. Overall, would recommend.
