5.0 out of 5 stars A lift to my life
I had a knee replacement with excellent results discounting the fact I now set off metal detectors. I limped before the surgery and didn't walk exactly right afterwards. 1.0 out of 5 stars Old Technology - not great
The foam rubber in these lifts causes your heel to move up and down in the shoe as you walk. This causes calluses and wears out socks. The leather top means that it cannot be cleaned and perspiration will soak in.

However, they are perfect with Birkenstock sandals, as the suede top layer matches the brown suede sandals. For other uses, a firmer heel lift...

5.0 out of 5 stars A lift to my life, September 3, 2010

I had a knee replacement with excellent results discounting the fact I now set off metal detectors. I limped before the surgery and didn't walk exactly right afterwards. Eventually I figured out the surgery had left my leg a little shorter than it had been. My orthopedic doctor gave me an Adjust-a-Lift to try out. It worked well, I especially liked the layered construction that allowed me to easily adjust the amount of lift. I bought more of them and now have them in my dress shoes, work boots and tennis shoes. I even glued one in my sandal. I highly, and without reservation recommend them to anyone who needs a lift in their life.

However, they are perfect with Birkenstock sandals, as the suede top layer matches the brown suede sandals. For other uses, a firmer heel lift that does not add spongy padding to shoes is preferrable.

Not recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Used twice & the layers separated, May 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read the reviews & bought one. Have 1 leg 1/2" shorter than the other. I placed this into my Dansko clog & by day 2, the layers started separating!! I can not recommend this product in light of this performance. Very dissapointing. The seller is not to be blamed-the mfg could use some perfecting of this product.

Really works for my leg length difference. Great in running shoes. My lower back no longer hurts, and my hip pain is gone.

You can certainly buy more expensive heel lifts, but these work fine and cost a lot less. Easy to insert and stay in place without any problem. I've been wearing these for years and would highly recommend.

This review is from: Adjustable Heel Lift Medium
I purchased one of these for my husband. His femurs have significant limb length difference, and he have been using regular shoe inserts (as opposed to heel lifts) for a few years. They have been less than adequate, and I decided it was time to explore other options. The medium heel lift fits his size 9 to 9-1/2 shoes perfectly and it stays in place. He has not noticed any problems with the way his foot fits into the shoe either.

During the first day, his affected hip was a little sore due to the adjustment. It didn't last longer than the first day though, because he now loves how comfortable the fit is. We've since purchased three more inserts for the rest of his shoes so he doesn't have to fuss with taking them in and out each time he wears a different pair.

The "adjustable" lift is simply three levels of height, and you can choose to remove one or two of the levels. My husband would benefit from one extra level of lift, but I understand that his situation isn't too common & most don't need that much height lift. It would just be nice to have the option.

Leather covering on the top is much nicer than older ones (same price) with nylon cloth tops.

3.0 out of 5 stars Heel lift does the job, July 6, 2011

This heel lift does the job in adjusting my leg length. Although, I wish it fit more tight within the shoe. It is a bit loose.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect for sandals, April 13, 2010

If you've ever worn shoes without socks you can appreciate this lift. Sweaty feet stick to smooth leather and many other smooth surfaces. But this soft suede surface won't stick to sweaty feet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Edge dressing can make this better in sandals, June 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I glued one of these to a Chaco sandal which has a black footbed, and the beige color of the suede part of the lift bothered me so I treated it with Allen Edmonds sole edge dressing. This is a product used to return scuffed leather dress shoe soles to a nice, shiny, black appearance. It dyed the suede very nicely and the coloring has withstood immersion in water, mud, and other abuses. For regular shoes and boots I think the Clearly Adjustable lifts work a little better, but for shoes where your foot will be in direct contact with the lift (as opposed to putting the lift under an insole), these work well. If the lift will be exposed and the foodbed is black, then I highly recommend edge dressing to help camouflage the lift.
