An Information Asset for all Levels,
By A Customer
This review is from: Core Stabilization and Shoulder Stabilization [VHS] (VHS Tape)
As a college swim coach, this is a educational and athletic asset for my swimmers. The exercises are well explained and relate very well to water mechanics. The swimmers have noticed increased strength from these exercises. We will continue to use the program.

A Swimming Coach's look at core stabilizaton,

We've used the core stabilization program to great benefit. Our purpose in adopting it were two-fold: to reduce injuries and to provide a strong core body platform. Conventional weight-lifting programs didn't adequately mimic the swimming motions and definitely didn't develop the kind of strong core body that our coaching staff believes is a precursor to swimming success. In this core stabilization program, we found a regimen that attacks and strengthens the areas we felt were vital to swimming success. This isn't a quick fix program - it takes time to develop core body coordination and more time to develop core body strength. We incorporated this program at our swimming club (NOVA of Virginia Aquatics, Inc., a large 375+ swimmer club located in Richmond, Virginia) and we have been very pleased with the results. The exercises are definitely different and the swimmers enjoy doing the balls - no complaints, lots of laughter. Try doing sit-ups on one of these balls - that will make you a believer (the 1st 20 are nothing, then it begins to hit you !!). The exercise ball book that accompanied the video is especially handy. A warning: if you're a quick fix junkie, go buy one of those abdominal buzz jobs you see on TV. If you want something that gives results the old-fashioned way, these exercise balls might be just the ticket.

1. Snowboard Rental $352. Snowboarding Day Pass $20 3. Reconstructive Shoulder Surgery because of wreck $9,000 4. Shoulder Stabilization and Core Stabilization Video [item price] 5. Coming out of 6 year retirement, swimming pain free, and going faster than I ever had before... you know the answer. I suffered constant shoulder problems throughout college. After college I took a six year hiatus and suffered a severe shoulder injury. In 1999 I got back into the water to train again and never saw an ice pack or bottle of Advil. It took me time to get used to the drills and the balance. I believe the drills are the reason I trained pain free, which allowed me to swim faster than I ever had before.

I'm a fitness swimmer and hoped this could help me with shoulder problems I am having. While the content is helpful and probably correct, there is actually very little content! I usually don't blink at the price of any book or video, but this would be better priced at [PRICE] rather than [PRICE].
