5.0 out of 5 stars A Method That Really Works
I have been an NLP Master Practitioner since 1996 and I recommend the Core Transformation method from personal experience. It is a powerful technique, based on reframing, that goes more or less like this:

1) You identify a behavior/feeling/response you want to change

2) You find a 'part' of yourself that is responsible for the behavior/feeling/response

3) You...

2.0 out of 5 stars If I knew where the "Core" was?
I had seen this author on a TV show and also found suggestions to her philosphy and teachings at some widow/dating sites.
I bought the book and started. I am a widow and have been struggling for about 2 years now.
The concept is right on. I have been in-therapy several times in my life, including now.
The books concept is the same except it has a...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Method That Really Works, March 2, 2004

(REAL NAME)
I have been an NLP Master Practitioner since 1996 and I recommend the Core Transformation method from personal experience. It is a powerful technique, based on reframing, that goes more or less like this:

1) You identify a behavior/feeling/response you want to change

2) You find a 'part' of yourself that is responsible for the behavior/feeling/response

3) You recognize that the part actually has a positive purpose and ultimately wants to do you good or protect you

4) You make peace with the part and become friends with it

5) You uncover the part's purpose, probably after passing through several layers of intent - you get to the 'core'

6) You ask the part to keep its purpose (which is positive) and change the behavior/feeling/response associated with it, reaching the same results by another, more ecological behavior/feeling/response

7) After the procedure things will begin to change, even though you may not be immediately aware or it - your unconscious mind may not provide you with that knowledge.

In 1997 I had to make this big change in my life and I was not sure how to begin. Fortunately I was lucky to participate in a Core Transformation workshop given by Connirae and Tamara Andreas in Denver. It was an incredible experience that helped me a lot, even though only years later I had enough perspective to appreciate all its influence on my life. The effect, I now believe, was that I came back from the workshop feeling much stronger and sure of myself, with all my internal parts aligned.

You may choose to take the Core Transformation workshop before or after reading this book. This book can be just a book or a powerful change tool depending on how you use it. You can do the exercises yourself or (better) with the help of a partner.

I hope my account helps and that you use this book to make the changes you want in your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A profoundly effective, simple, and painless technique., June 14, 1999
By A Customer
The Core Transformation technique described in this book is extremely effective, simple, and not only painless, but as you experience the Core States, it is actually profoundly pleasurable.
When reading this book, do remember that "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch". You need to actually do the exercises in the book. If you try to read it on a purely intellectual level, it will seem too detailed and repetitive. If you have even one experience with just the first part of the process, and you see the way it works, the details and real-life examples that this book provides are a gold-mine.
After my first couple uses of this process, steps six through ten seemed superfluous - the results of the first part were so dramatic, that I couldn't imagine any way to improve on it. These later steps are, however, a real added bonus in terms of long-term integration and incorporation of the change process.
I don't think I'm that unusual of a person, and I don't understand how this book can have been in print for three years, and not be more popular.
I've read dozens of self-help books, and spent hours in both individual and group therapy, but have never made as much significant progress in as short a time as I have in the first three or four times I've used the Core Transformation technique.
Some people believe that the cure for cancer has been discovered, but is being hidden, so that researchers can continue to collect billions of dollars in research funds. Could the same thing be happening among psychotherapists ? Has Andreas discovered the cure for neurosis, but it's being suppressed by the professional establishment so that they can continue to collect billions of dollars for therapy ?
I don't know why this book has not been acclaimed as the monumental psychological breakthrough that it obviously is, but I do know that it's the best self-help book I've ever read.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I highly recommend this book, and suggest that you get yourself a copy - while you still can !

5.0 out of 5 stars I can sleep, November 28, 1999
A patient of mine was reading this book and brought it in telling me that I should read it. I told him that I didn't have any problems in my life and that it would be a waste of my time. He insisted, so I bought it, read it and decided to work on my insomnia. I have instantly gone to sleep at 10:30 every night since I did the core transforation (about a month ago). Before I had to take a sleeping pill or stay awake til about 3 AM. This is the first self-help book I have read in recent memory that has reaaly made a difference in my life. I'm on-line with Amazon right now to buy 6 more books for some of my employees and friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Core Transformation Process works...., March 13, 2000
By A Customer
The Core Transformation Process, when used, actually does what its "supposed" to.

I used this method for about 6-8 months maybe a dozen or so times a month. The results I created for myself are something that I really don't have words to describe.

In my opinion, this works well as a thing to do by yourself. The book gives more than enough instruction and helpful hints.

I was able to create a MASSIVE shift(s) (for the better) in the quality of my experience.

Very high quality.

If you enjoy reading books that has potential to change your life, I will recommend reading this. It is a little long winded. However, I had to try it out with issue I was having - A lower back pain issue. I had a feeling it was due to a little stress, and I have been doing physio for a few weeks.
I got in touch with the part of me that is controlling the pain, and found its positive intention. Well, cut a long story short. I got rid of 80% of the pain in 15 mins, and over the next 2 days it was getting better and better. There is no-limit to what you can use it for, Just give it a go.

5.0 out of 5 stars best self-help book I have read, August 6, 2000

I will not say much. Simply try it. I was really amazed because unlike many other self-help books , this book suggest very simple, but powerful method. I could see solutions of many personal problems very easily just in 2 hours. Strangely or natually, what I got as my core state matches with what I am studying, statistical physics.

Very simple and easy method, but you can get profound results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible, August 26, 2003
By A Customer
I had no idea I had such a cast of characters inside. All well-meaning, all trying to protect me, but ultimately limiting my ability to be all I want to be. Using this book, I've been able to identify and eliminate the source of many of my fears. I'm left feeling very free and confident. Goals that in the past I couldn't seem to achieve are now easily accomplished. Problems that used to be an issue are now non-issues. My relationship with my boyfriend is far better because I don't have my old fears and issues getting in the way. In other words, I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Evaluation of the core, April 4, 2000
I am a psychiatrist and I must say that I use the method in this book for my clients and myself. I am a professional who works also in the biomolecular part of the psychology. And this method is a real interface to control biomolecular parameters. You can not see seretonin or the other neurotransmitters of your neurology, you can not touch it or put some more without side effects. But with an interface like this you can change the parameters inside. It is like using Microsoft Word to write, without knowing any hexadecimal codes of the computer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, October 24, 2003

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have read dozens of self-help books over the years and have tried tapes by Brian Tracy, Anthony Robbins, and others. Nothing compares to this book in terms of results. It really works and it is virtually effortless. And somewhat fun.

I can't describe the process of Core Transformation, but I will say it might appeal more to someone who is spiritual. But I am a really mainstrean kind of person-- suburban Mom, minivan, lawyer-- so don't think this is some new agey, flaky kind of thing.

Why is this book not a smashing bestseller? Big mystery!

5.0 out of 5 stars NLP on steroids, October 30, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The most powerful processes in nlp include parts integration, and if you train with certain trainers you also learn Time Line Techniques, and Timeline Therapy (TM) techniques. When you learn about the hierarchy of ideas, you know that certain types of questions rewire your brain.

In parts integration, chunking up questions open up abstract or big picture thinking, and resolve inner conflict. Chunking down helps you to problem solve, and get more specific. Lateral chunking opens up choices within a category. For example, if you want to buy a luxury car, and you want to consider options other than a Merecedes, you might ask (LC)'what other types of luxury car would I buy?' If you (CU)ask yourself what will having this car get me that's more important? The answer moves you through a different level of consciousness, which if you're like me could be status, comfort, luxury, freedom, peace etc. Einstein said: 'A problem cannot be solved from the same level of consciousness in which it was created.'

So, if you take some of these techniques, combine them, add a splash of genius and intuition, as Connirae Andreas has done, you have an extremely powerful and effective tool of transformation, and it's also easy to use. It's more than Timeline techniques, it's more than parts integration as you may know it. It's parts integration on steroids.

CT moves an undesired behavior, limitation or internal conflict up through your values hierarchy, and enables you to access more abstract levels of consciousness, until you access your 'core' value. When you reach the core value, you may have some interesting and trance forming experiences.

As the author advises, I used this on a minor behavior first...eating when I'm not hungry, and applied the state changing question, I went through a few layers such as feeling satisfied, and 'already feeling satisfied, what would that enable you to get that's even more important,... eventually I arrived at inner peace, and my core value of 'Oneness or Unity.' When I reached the core state I intuitively asked what would transform that even more, the answer for me was 'divine light.' Since then I have been able to ..catch myself in the act, and not eat when i am not hungry.

Having read as little as 50 pages you can run a five step version of CT, without the Timeline technique. What enhances this more is using the core value to further transform the limitations, which makes the results even more spectacular. As you get further into the book you can add on more sophisticated techniques such as Parental Timeline reimprinting, dealing with conflicts between parts, growing up a part, and so on, which make for some intriguing and exciting experiences.

If you're not familiar with nlp, this book is written for everybody, and is totally jargon free. My recommendation if you don't get an answer to your question, keep asking, it's like a hammer and chisel, sometimes it takes several hits to make a breakthrough.

It's easy to imagine its huge potential for psychologists, nlp trainers, life coaches, gurus, and anyone who wants to make a change, and I plan on using it extensively from now on. I note that there are Core Transformation coaches all over the world, and it's a mystery that it's not more popular given how powerful this technique really is. This would most definitely be my desert island read. Hope this was helpful.
