For example, there are now new "three-point" tools for drawing rectangles, ellipses, and curves. With each you click to fix the first point, stretch out to define an axis or baseline, and click again to complete the object. This is a very useful alternative to the conventional way of drawing these figures, though the original tools are still there, too.
Other new tools include Polyline and Pen. Polyline enables you to create lines and objects segment by segment, where each segment can be straight or curved. Pen is similar to the pen tool in Adobe Photoshop, offering a quick and easy way to create Bezier curves.
Other handy new features include the ability to snap one object to another and to simplify shapes and extract the outline of one from another when they overlap. The Align and Distribute dialog is now "modeless," making it easier to work with when lining up objects.
CorelDRAW 11 introduces Symbols to its repertoire, too. These are not the same as the symbol fonts that the program has offered for many years, but rather a way of saving and reusing drawn elements more efficiently than copying and pasting them. The advantage of symbols is that you can reuse "instances" of them, while only one description is stored in the drawing file. This saves considerable file space, which is particularly important when drawing Web graphics.
Quite a few of the improvements in CorelDRAW 11 help when designing for the Internet. There's much improved support for industry-standard file types, such as SVG and compressed SVG and the ability to include symbols in PDF files, again a space saver. You can also preserve layers in your drawing when exporting to Adobe Photoshop and Corel Photo-Paint and choose to import only specific pages from a PDF.
If you're willing to put in the time and effort required to make the most of this program, CorelDRAW 11.0 will reward you with a sophisticated, complex, and extremely useful design application. --Simon Williams
For example, new 3-Point Ellipse, Rectangle, and Curve tools let you create and position shapes in two clicks. Apply artistic effects to blocks of text and maintain formatting with the new Convert to Curves tool. Plus, create lines and curves in one stroke using the new Polyline tool. With enhanced compatibility, a customizable workspace, and professional output capabilities, CorelDRAW 11 makes your work more enjoyable.
Note: This is an upgrade version of CorelDRAW 11.

CorelDraw 11 Rocks!,

I don't know what the other users were smoking when they wrote their reviews. I use CorelDraw 11 extensively with complex multi-layered projects mixing massive bitmap files, text, and vector graphics and it works flawlessly! There is no better program for layout and graphics. I've used CorelDraw since Version 3 and each version keeps getting better (except for version 6 which had some severe file-bloat problems). Of course, you do have to have the horsepower to run it right: I have an AMD XP2600 CPU with 1 GB of RAM and an NVidia 128 MB graphics card running Windows 2000 Professional. However, I run it at work on a 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 with 512 MB of RAM and Windows 2000 Professional and it runs fine, too, if a bit slower.

Expensive, buggy and not better as Corel 10,

Some say Corel 11 has less bugs then the version before. Do not belive that lie! I am using it since 7 days and it has many bugs:- it still hangs on sometimes - there is a copy and paste bug. If u have a file open for a while Corel "forgets" how to copy. U can try but it doesnt work in Corel (all other programs still can copy - only in Corel can't). - I am using a 1.8 Ghz machine and it seems to be mutch too slow! Its usefull, but don't spend money for upgrading to corel 11!

The Last of the Mac Line for Corel,

This program is great for working on a Mac, because it's Corel, which is so easy to use. Too bad they no longer see a need to continue the product. Will still work with OS 10.3.9, which is the highest my Mac can go. I believe it also includes Windows version, which I use a higher version. If you have a Mac, take advantage of a still useful program, although I don't think it uses VBA macros.
