1.0 out of 5 stars Obsolete and will not run on PCs newer than 2000, July 27, 2009
By
This review is from: Corel Linux 1.0 Deluxe OS (CD-ROM)
The Corel Linux OS was written over 11 years ago and is TOTALLY obsolete.

It never ran well to begin with, honestly. Corel rushed it to market to jump on the early Linux bandwagon. After huge financial losses and thousands of unhappy customers, Corel shuttered their Linux division, dropped all support and sold it to Xandros. Xandros does not support any Corel versions of Linux.

The version of WordPerfect that is bundled with it is not native to Linux, unlike WordPerfect 8.0 and runs under the WINE emulator; notoriously unstable in this case.

This software isn't worth the box it came in. Save your money if you're looking for a version of Linux to actually run. It won't work 99% of today's computers. There are still millions of copies out therefore it has no value as a collectible, whatsoever.
