Corel Linux OS focuses on making Linux a more user-friendly personal computer work environment for users who have varying skills and abilities. The desktop GUI provides a graphical working environment based on the K Desktop Environment (KDE). It comes fully equipped with basic applications and utilities, such as a calculator, file manager, font manager, and online help viewer.
Corel Install Express installs Corel Linux OS Second Edition in four steps, automatically detecting most hardware and installing the appropriate drivers. Corel Install Express automatically starts in a graphic environment with a system and network login prompt. The configuration process begins in an intuitive graphic environment, and users have access to documentation resources, including online help.
Corel Update provides an easy-to-use GUI that lets users install, update, and remove applications or packages quickly. Corel Update checks the user's computer for installed applications and then checks the source location, including FTP sites and CD drives, and installs the appropriate updates automatically.
Corel's file manager lets users manage files on local drives, shared Microsoft Windows drives, and Linux network drives. The file manager also lets users browse a Microsoft Windows network or the World Wide Web and upload and download files from File Transfer Protocol (FTP) sites.
Additionally, Corel Linux OS Second Edition Deluxe ships with Corel Photo-Paint for Linux, a comprehensive bitmap-based painting, image composition, and photo-editing application.
Each release of Corel Linux OS ships with a game from Loki Entertainment Software. Corel Linux OS Second Edition Deluxe includes Myth II: Soulblighter Limited Edition, plus seven demo versions of various games.
Corel Linux OS Second Edition also includes the XMMS player, which is an open source MP3 player; the Citrix client; the GraphOn client; support for SoftModem modems; Corel WordPerfect 8 (light version), for professional word-processing and compatibility with Microsoft Office 97; the Adobe Acrobat Reader, Netscape Communicator, RealPlayer, Macromedia Flash Player 4, Corel Smart Move, and the full set of Open Sound System sound drivers developed by 4front Technologies.

Obsolete, worthless - will not run on PCs built past 2001,

The Corel Linux OS was written over 11 years ago and is TOTALLY obsolete.It never ran well to begin with, honestly. Corel rushed it to market to jump on the early Linux bandwagon. After huge financial losses and thousands of unhappy customers, Corel shuttered their Linux division and sold it to Xandros. This software isn't worth the box it came in - save your money. It won't work on your computer and it's only worth about $5.00 for souvenir value.
