Great Value for the Price!!!,

This product is great....sure you could spend more and get Photoshop...but it is more expensive. Picture Publisher 10 has some cool new features like Particle Studio and Image Healer as well as some old Picture Publisher favorites like Light Studio. I have tried that Adobe Elements thing and I can assure you that Picture Publisher 10 is a much better product. It also compares well with many of the other mid-level image editing suites. Above all, I like the fact that Picture Publisher 10 is easy to use while still maintaining an impressive amount of features.I also played around with Picture Publisher 9 when it came out earlier this year and was somewhat disappointed in the amount of improvements from 8 to 9. Well, Picture Publisher 10 is a vast improvement over 9. It has many new features and seems to be more stable. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone looking for an intuitive Image Editer that is powerful enough to do what you want but doesn't cost too much.

Great program but some problems in Vista or Windows 7,

I've been using Picture Publisher for a long time and still prefer it for power and ease of use to more expensive and sophisticated programs such as Photoshop. That being said, I thought that I'd share some of my experiences with trying to run PP8 and PP10 in 32-bit Vista and 64-bit Windows 7. I've gotten both PP8 and PP10 to run in 32-bit Vista by disabling desktop composition and using XP SP2 compatibility. PP10 seems to crash more often than PP8 and I prefer PP8 because when copying a feathered image into a new window, the image returns to the unfeathered form, unlike PP10 that remains feathered. I've also used the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit to disable UAC for the program. The only issue besides occasional crashes is that when drawing a mask, part of the mask will disappear. I've gotten used to that.
64-bit Windows 7 is a different story. PP8 would not install because the installer was 16-bit. 16-bit programs will not run in 64-bit Windows. PP10 does install but I've been unable to disable UAC for this single program as I did in Vista. I don't have the problem with masks but I cannot drag and drop images into the program. They must be copied and pasted or directly loaded. Other than that, no problems. All this being said, it's still the best graphics program around. Amazing that nobody has picked it up. If you can find PP10, get it. It's really hard to find.

Great, Great, Great,

I have been using Picture Publisher since it first started. Why does Microsoft make useful applications obsolete for home users OR why does Corel, who owned it, discontinued it.
I use it (Version 10) with my xp now. It's easy to use, it's comprehensive, it's useful for all and, unfortunately, nothing as good as Picture Publishers functionality is out there. I will get windows 7 professional (The fluff operating system) next year and I hope Picture Publisher still works. I have seen sites that download the product. Winimages is a great product as an alternate, but it's tough (long learning curve) to use.
