With over 250 million copies sold, WinDVD is one of the world's most recognized brands. Beyond looking good, this sleek Blu-ray and DVD player is stacked with useful features, such as 2D to 3D conversion, HD upscaling, extended battery life for laptops, superior surround sound to deliver an immersive high-octane experience, and more. Plus, WinDVD Pro 11 is the only DVD software player to include an integrated movie search engine that finds you premium online movies from the popular sites of Netflix, Amazon and Hulu at the lowest price. A variety of 3D screen options, plus support for NVIDIA 3D Vision Shutter Glasses and XpanD polarized glasses, give you multiple ways of viewing 3D movies. Watch it your way with WinDVD Pro 11.

Fluid Playback Experience

Whether you're watching a treasured DVD, playing an HD video file, or getting blown away by the latest Blu-ray 3D blockbuster, WinDVD Pro 11 offers a smooth and easy playback experience.

Enhanced! Uncluttered, intuitive interface: The WinDVD Pro 11 interface makes it easy to fully immerse yourself in whatever you're watching. Minimalist and devoid of distraction, all the playback controls you need appear only when you hover over the viewing area. In addition, a convenient right-click menu provides quick access to additional audio settings and video navigation options, such as chapter, title, subtitle, caption, full screen, zoom, repeat, and shuffle.

Enhanced! Performance optimization: WinDVD Pro 11 is optimized for new CPUs and GPUs from NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD, which results in fast and fluid video playback--no matter where you're watching. And for Windows Vista and Windows 7 laptop users, WinDVD offers power-saving technology that helps to ensure that your battery lasts the whole movie.

New! Playlists: With WinDVD Pro 11, you can now create custom playlists, which are a great way to keep track of a burgeoning video collection. It's a breeze to manage your playlists, too; you simply drag files to add to a playlist, and you can add or remove files with a single click.

New! Corel FlixFinder: This integrated video search engine lets you instantly find, and download or stream content from a variety of online sources, such as Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. You can search for both movies and TV shows, compare prices between content providers, and even add "Like" recommendations on Facebook.

You can also choose from the latest releases and past favorites, browse by category and subcategory to narrow your search, and create bookmarks to track your most cherished films and shows--all with a sense of security that you are viewing legally obtained content.

Enhanced! TimeStretch: You can use TimeStretch to modify playback speed without affecting stereo output or distorting the audio. TimeStretch is particularly useful if you want to watch a video when you have a limited amount of available time, for example, during an airport layover.

Enhanced! Automatic video enhancements: When you're watching a video with WinDVD Pro 11, automatic anti-blur, anti-shake, and pixelation reduction features are at work in the background, sharpening the video to ensure you have the best possible picture quality.

Enhanced! Color and lighting controls: WinDVD Pro 11 provides both automatic and manual settings, such as color correction, HD upscaling, and other lighting controls, to help you adjust the picture quality to suit your preference. For example, you may want to dim the lighting if you are watching a video in a bright environment.

Enhanced! Capture Image/QuickClip: With WinDVD Pro 11, you can easily capture an image or brief clip from a video. This lets you preserve your favorite movie scene as a desktop or laptop wallpaper, or instantly share a fun image with friends via email. You can also easily create and share a 15-second animated GIF from a selected video segment.

Enhanced! Extensive file format support: WinDVD Pro 11 supports an array of popular video file formats and containers, ensuring you a crisp, vivid playback experience. Notable among the supported formats are DivX for Windows 7, FLV, QuickTime, Windows Media (WMV), DVD-Video, AVCHD, MTS, M2TS, MKV, MP4, and 3GP.

Outstanding Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D support

WinDVD Pro 11 is a perfect solution for anyone who wants more than default operating system video players can provide. It offers 3D and HD upscaling technology, advanced Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D support, and stunning surround sound configurations.

New! Make 2D videos appear in 3D: You can set WinDVD Pro 11 to automatically convert your 2D movies to 3D, which adds spectacular depth and realism to your viewing experience. By analyzing the color, position, and motion characteristics of 2D video, WinDVD Pro 11 can render the video in stereoscopic 3D. This feature supports 3D conversion for DVD-Video, and both HD and SD video.

Enhanced! Advanced 3D and Blu-ray playback technology: WinDVD Pro 11 is a dedicated Blu-ray Disc (BD) and Blu-ray 3D player that supports the latest advancements in 3D and Blu-ray technology. To ensure that you get the most out of your Blu-ray experience, WinDVD Pro 11 includes support for BD pop-up menus, BD-Live, BD-J, and digital audio output and mixing for BD-ROM discs.

4.0 out of 5 stars WinDVD is back! November 6, 2011
Platform for Display:PC
INTRODUCTION
I have kept an eye on WinDVD for years and was sorry to see that its quality was declining. Then Corel bought it and I felt very excited about the possibility of a true software giant supporting its development.

Unfortunately, v2010 was flawed - I downloaded trials on several occasions and was disappointed every time. It was full of bugs! I could not believe Corel would allow such software under its banner.

Quire simply put WinDVD has given PowerDVD too much breathing space and Cyberlink has used its No 1 position in a monopolized market to further complicate and bloat PowerDVD, which after v7 has not added a single must-have function. (3D! Is that what customers really want - and not Unicode subtitle support, for example?) They needed badly a worthy competitor... and they have finally found one in WinDVD v11!

PROS
1. A generous trial period of 30 days.
2. The installation package is somewhat big - 118 MB (though actually smaller than PowerDVD), but installation is comparatively quick and painless. On screen data keeps you informed about the installation progress.
3. The player acts as a lightweight one, there is no lag. Startup time is also great. PowerDVD trails behind here.
4. Controls are easy to understand and use. The only recommendation would be to have "Options" and "Audio/Video Controls" at the same place. Why have two separate configuration paths?
5. When playing DVDs and BDs there is a lot of tweaking available with regards to audio and video options. Not as many as PowerDVD has, though.
6. Volume can be controlled with the mouse wheel. It is surprising that many high-profile players can not do this simple trick - and it is essential. When you turn the wheel (scroll) in PowerDVD that would...

Platform for Display:PC|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Corel is rapidly becoming the Netscape of the digital media software world. I have reviewed two of their products on Amazon, Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 which I gave 1 star to, and Corel Digital Studio 2010 which I gave 2 stars to.

So, what's new with Corel? Not much, really. I actually kind of feel sorry for them. They have a portfolio of products that are becoming increasingly irrelevant in modern computing. Image editing can now be done "in the cloud" (that's "online" for those of you not infected with marketing-speak) from companies like Adobe, Microsoft, and even Tumblr and Facebook -- and generally for free for the red-eye and cropping tools that the majority of people only want. Well, OK, but what about watching DVDs and Blu-Rays? Well, Apple computers come with software to do that right in the OS, same goes for Windows 7+ computers (with plug-ins for DVD, they don't do Blu-Ray yet, but I am sure they will soon). Sure, they aren't packed full of features, but then again, neither is a DVD/Blu-Ray player. If the OS doesn't provide a program to watch movie discs on, there are always free programs like VideoLAN's VLC player (which plays darn near everything). Apple's Quicktime Player Pro will also play discs (although you have to pay for it).

So, what is a company like Corel supposed to do? The answer it seems, in their case, add bloatware to all of their products, and try to convince their customers that using their software is the ONLY way to do certain things.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money March 4, 2012

To put it simply, this product just does not work. I installed the software, installed the latest updates, and when i try to play a Blu-Ray or a DVD it freezes. I uninstalled it, then re-installed it again, and the same issue happens. All of my drivers are up-to-date. So i tried contacting Corel. Their tech support is a joke, as the website doesn't even allow you to actually send a question to tech support. You can fill out a case for them to answer your question, but after you send it it says "Case Creation Fail" and your question disappears. I tried this on 2 separate days, and the same thing happens. No support on Corel's user forum either, as it is mostly comprised of people asking my same question: Why doesn't it work?

I bought WinDVD Pro 11 because i have Cyberlink's PowerDVD on another computer and have had issues with it. Looks like i'm going back to PowerDVD. Unfortunately

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not work too well March 14, 2012
Platform for Display:PC
Pros: when it works, the result is good

Cons: more often than not, it does not work

I bought the product online directly from Corel. I have to say that the few DVDs I tried played OK. When I tried to ply Blu Rays, the experience was different. A lot of bd stop working with the "Media Not Supported" message. I have 2 other bluray players (Samsung and OPPO) and they are both able to play those disks. When the software is able to move further along, it is doing really strange things with the screen resolution, although it usually is able to play, but often with a perceptible time lag between video and sound. I contacted the Corel support who only contacted me through email and after 2 rounds of "re-install directx, re-install / upgrade your video drivers" then "re-install the entire product", I just decided to forget about my HTPC, the $60 I spent and go back to my OPPO player to watch my movies without wasting my time.
