still a dummy after buying this book,
By robin g (Orange County, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Corel WordPerfect 8 For Windows For Dummies (Paperback)
It was difficult to understand this book. People who are new to computers need a book that is written in non computer language. It helped me figure out how to set up a spreadsheet, but I still don't know how to undisable my toolbar so I can cut and paste. A lot of the terminology is not explained. This does not help the novice to understand what is going on. I think the way the book is set up is very confusing. It seems scattered to me and I had to skim through the entire book to find the references I wanted. I am taking a computer class for teachers now and I am still confused when I use this book. My instructer had to point out that the graphics in the book actually related to the computers tool bar.

I purchased this for a friend, and he was not happy with it. He said it is out of date compared to the newer versions of Corel that are on the market. I suppose I should have checked more carefully. It is what it is.
