Very straightforward, informative, easy to understand
Good book for those who like a no nonsense approach that serves as both a tutorial and technical reference. Provides ample detail.

Overly Symplistic
Excellent for the pure WP novice. Nearly worthless for any experienced WP user. This book is of no help with trouble shooting or developing an in-depth knowledge of the various functions in WP 8. Joe

I came from 5.0 WordPerfect and wanted an all-encompassing book that we used to refer to as a "reference" book; however since this books has over 800 pages, I expected some tutorial aspects which it does not contain. Absolutely unclear to someone who never before used Windows.
