I chose Corelle for my everyday dishes when I got married in 1975. I really didn't know what I had! When I got tired of the pattern (even though the dishes were still going strong), my head was turned by some pretty stoneware and these hard-working champs were put out to pasture. I didn't move them out of the kitchen though but they lost their spot in the main cabinet. I liked my new stoneware but the chips in the bowls and plates were sad to see. I never had that with my Corelle - I guess we were not used to being gentle with the dishes.

Corelle is excellent for the microwave. It doesn't absorb the microwaves like the stoneware did and it takes far less time to heat up leftovers! Everyone learned this pretty quickly and I noticed more and more that I was seeing more Corelle in the dishwasher than my stoneware, especially as the children grew older and were eating later due to school activities. The stoneware only gets used when the Corelle is dirty!

Corelle is not prone to breakage in the same way as other dishes. My children and I have dropped them with no consequences on many occassions. It will break when hot though and it shatters into sharp shards of glass that explode throughout the room when it does! My sister-in-law picked up a HOT bowl of broccoli at my mother-in-law's house, burnt herself and dropped it. What a mess! When my mother-in-law moved from her house several years later, she found broccoli in places you wouldn't believe and was still finding shards of Corelle under things. It really sprad. Instead of chips, I've found that a bowl or plate will have a shard of glass missing from the edge.

My Corelle - in Butterfly Gold - was removed from the cabinets today. I replaced it with a new pattern. My daughter (who has a nice set of Corelle of her own, in a beautiful pattern) took it to her home. I had, at one time, 12 place settings plus serving pieces, smaller bowls, luncheon plates, etc. I notice that Corning has not continued offering the serving pieces, etc. to match and that is disappointing. I'm going to be looking at open-stock pieces to see what I can find to work with it!

I never realized when I selected my dishes for my bridal registry, that I would get nearly 40 years service out of them! Eventually my daughter may donate the leftover pieces when she gets more dishes but, for now, their life goes on in another place.

I grew up using Corelle so I already knew how durable it was. The set we got for our wedding was a Sango variety, and while very pretty were just getting to be way too heavy. I injured my shoulder last year and it's been getting more and more difficult to put the dishes away or get them out when needed, especially when carrying a big stack of plates. Plus the bowls didn't nest very well together. So, that said, I decided to get rid of the wedding set and order some Corelle. They are lightweight, durable, they are not too tall for my dishwasher (a problem of the previous plates) and they nest flat together, plates, bowls, whatever. The mugs are a little more heavy-duty than what I was expecting, and I was worried the color would be unappealing in person, but they are very pretty. Now that I have them, I actually really like the leaf pattern. We've since ordered another set so we'll have a service for 12. I no longer dread unloading the dishwasher. Very happy with our purchase!

Corelle is durable, light, functional and is perfect for modern, fast paced living. Corelle takes up so little space and if you are clumsy like me it is very sturdy. I just love Corelle and I'm proud of it although I do have certain older family members that snicker and turn their noses up to it - too bad because they don't know what they are missing! My Grandmother used the Crazy Daisy pattern as her everyday kitchen dishes for decades. A couple of years ago I happened upon a huge, assorted collection of the Crazy Daisy vintage pattern at an estate sale and I still use it everyday. I wanted to add to the discontinued Crazy Daisy pattern and was searching on Ebay for odds and end pieces but then I came across this new pattern at a great price. This price is the same price as Wal-mart but you save by not paying tax or using your own gas to go purchase it.

This new pattern is nice and bright with 2 different shades of green on it - very vintage and retro. I do wish the luncheon plate size came with the set, but that isn't Amazon's fault. The only reason this product doesn't get all 5 stars is because of the packaging. I read on another review that the mugs got damaged in shipment. Luckily that did not happen to me but I can see how it could easily occur. The 4 mugs are packed at each of the 4 corners of the box - that could be a problem if the box gets banged around. The other drawback that I also read about in another review is that the set arrives in only an unmarked, plain brown box - the set is not packed in a "Corelle" Brand box like you would get at a big box store. This is a real drawback if you were looking to give this as a gift.

We like all pieces in this set. All of them look great. There's no difference between real color and the one shown in the picture. I like the four mugs.

I don't usually write any reviews but I have never been so disappointed. THe plates do not come in its original box. It just a cheap brown box. I was planning to gift this but I think it is just horrible. The dishes were so dusty, they looked terrible. I don't know if I should keep them. They seem like returned plates that could not be repackaged again in its original box. The price is good but the packaging is very bad. Just be warned if you are planning to gift this item.

After I bought this I found that they are being sold for half the price $21 in the local stores.

It was exactly as shown in the picture, nice plates, bowls and cups and have used it for a month now. Very good for the price and it arrived on time too.

I love Corelle products and will always look at them first; this product did not disappoint. The colors are really vibrant on the plates, bowls and mugs. I even already dropped and plate and there were no breaks. My only issue was that when I first got the product there was a light coat of oil all over eveything; however, a quick wash through a dishwasher took it right off. (Not that I wouldn't have washed it first, but I'm just pointing out that the oil didn't persist through multiple washings.)

Corelle is a great, durable product for everyday use. Neo Leaf is a fresh, interesting pattern that makes my kitchen feel updated. The sizes are plenty big for our needs. This is a great deal for these dishes- no, it doesn't come in an official "Corelle" box, but then, you don't have to go looking for it at Target and pay sales tax. It arrived in a very sturdy, thick cardboard box and was in perfect condition. Yup, I'm old enough to have used Corelle as a young housewife in the 1970's- it's still great. I think the cups are really pretty, just like the color in the picture. We had developed the bad habit of using disposables but didn't want to go back to heavy stoneware. Corelle is a perfect alternative- lightweight, easy care, and reusable! I highly recommend this as an alternative to Dixieware. Save the earth, get some Corelle!
