Disappointing, July 26, 2008
This review is from: Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines (Kitchen)
Warning: these bowls can't be put in the microwave and they can't be put in the dishwasher. The description does not mention this "minor" detail, but a small insert inside the box does. Who wants to hand-wash a mixing bowl? And who wants to move leftovers out of the storage container into something else in order to microwave it?
Maybe I should have assumed all of this because the bowls are partly made of steel, but so many items these days are microwave-safe even though they have metal in them. It never occurred to me that something made by Corelle could make my kitchen work MORE complicated.
Beyond that - the bowls look fine, and they are supposedly scratch resistant, but they just "feel" like the color will start chipping off soon. And the lids aren't as tight as you might expect. They do fit, but I wouldn't want to tip one upside down.

Not disappointed, but not excited, either, March 24, 2010
This review is from: Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines (Kitchen)
The bowls make a nice set. They look nice, are very light, and stack nicely together. They are not dishwasher safe, which isn't mentioned in the write-up but I knew that from reading the reviews. I got this set to match my new set of Corelle Simple Lines plates and bowls.
The set arrived quickly, and the only thing worth mentioning is that three of the six bowls had tiny, round flaws in the white exterior (two inside the bowl, and one outside the bowl). Not a terribly big deal, but these were brand new, out-of-the-box and I don't think they should have been shipped. And since the spots are black, they stand out VERY clearly against the white bowl.
Unfortunately, the bowls got washed, stacked, and put away, and I forgot to return them quickly. At this point I'll probably just keep them. The bowls work fine and aren't too expensive, but the flaws are disappointing. So I'm not unhappy, but I'm definately not excited about the set.

Cracking, Rusting Enamel, June 2, 2009
This review is from: Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines (Kitchen)
I bought these bowls about 6 weeks ago and have used them less than that amount of time and I already have a spot on one of the bowls where the enamel has cracked and begun rusting. I'm extremely disappointed with this, as I am about the quality of the "Simple Lines" dinnerware collection which is what I bought the bowls to compliment. 10/12 - I've had these bowls for about 6 months now and the lids have begun cracking as well. Total junk.
