5.0 out of 5 stars Attractively designed and serve their intended purpose
I bought two sets of these burner covers (the other is a blue-on-white design that sort of resembles Wedgwood) when our kitchen was renovated because I wanted to create a little more occasional counter space. It was a happy accident that both sets of burner covers I bought happened to match (well enough, anyway) the kitchen curtains someone else bought for me...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rectangular burner covers
Really do like them except for the fact they are a bit too shallow and don't set down on the stovetop. You should consider making them in both this size for older gas stoves and a new, deeper size for all the newer gas stoves with the higher burner grids. They probably work well for electric burners.

I bought two sets of these burner covers (the other is a blue-on-white design that sort of resembles Wedgwood) when our kitchen was renovated because I wanted to create a little more occasional counter space. It was a happy accident that both sets of burner covers I bought happened to match (well enough, anyway) the kitchen curtains someone else bought for me.

These covers stack together nicely when you're only using one side of the stove, are just deep enough to cover the burners, and sturdy enough to hold quite a bit of weight on them (sometimes I have to leave a full coffeepot or teapot, along with pots and pans, on top of the stove, for a while). I swap them about once a month, and they fit neatly (another happy coincidence) between the sink cabinet and the washing machine (yes, the washing machine is in the kitchen) when they're not being used.

A couple of caveats - they're not flimsy by any means, but don't put anything excessively heavy on them, and I never put anything right off the flame on them, either (I always put a silicon trivet on top of the cover before I put a hot pot on top of it). Over time they will start to dent or bend if you continually put too much weight on them. Take good care of them and you'll love them as much as I do!

I've been using Corelle "Abundance" for years. These burner covers are a great coordinate. They're useful for covering up the burners I'm not using so I have some extra workspace.
