these are a beautiful dark blue...no chalky blue here!!!
they are not as black blue as the picture though. they are large and won't fit in standard cabinetry....so you will have to find a place for them.....
great quality! i saw them at walmart for more!!! i got 25.00 off an entire order of 125.00 and free shipping..which is 20% off.....
you won't be sorry.....they mix and match great with the other colors in their collection! they are a heavy weight.
i purchased the red with these to mix and match...the red on the picture is not the red on the dishes they are a chalky red..almost mauvey red.....i love bright red..so that was a bit of a bum...but they look great alone or with the blue!!!

I liked the square shape of this set and I liked that they are large in comparison to other dinnerware. I have some family members who do not like it if different food items touch, so this works out wonderfully. Also, for those wanting a full plate of food, there is plenty of room.

The bowls are larger than other bowls we have used, which I like. When we used the salad plates under hot bowls, the bowls stayed firmly in place instead of sliding around.

I did have to get used to drinking from the mugs (cups) as they have straight sides instead of being rounded, but they too hold a good amount of whatever you choose to put in them.

I did measure my dishwasher before ordering to be sure the plates clear the wand because another review I read said the plates were too large for the purchaser's dishwasher. They cleared the wand in my dishwasher fine. I like these dishes because they are different.

Two bowls were broken upon intital shipment. I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately sent out replacements.

Everytime I serve a meal on these dishes I am amazed at how stylish it looks. There's no doubt about it---they make a stunning table service. The problem is in the functionality.

First of all, I had to get a plate rack and store the dishes vertically because the 11 1/2 inch plates wouldn't fit in my cabinets. Then I had to raise the shelf above them to fit the vertical plates, which reduced the space there.

Next problem: They wouldn't fit in my dishwasher without raising the top rack to the point where my glasses wouldn't fit. That leaves me with this dilemma: wash the glasses by hand or wash the plates by hand. And if I wash the plates by hand, there usually aren't enough dishes to fill the dishwasher up. (I don't like to waste water and energy by running a partial load.) In short, I do my dishes by hand now.

Final problem: Recent scientific research has indicated that people easily overeat when the dishes are large, and I know that is certainly true for me. The larger plates, bowls, and mugs are SO BIG that I must be on guard not to put too much food in them. The bowl, for example, holds twice as much as my previous dishes---I know because I checked.

I was thrilled to see these colors available in dinnerware and immediately brought two sets home. Then, sadly, I could not close my cabinet door when the plates were stacked inside!! Turns out the plates are 11 1/2" wide and standard kitchen cabinets are 11" deep. What were they thinking?? I Hope Corelle will use these colors again in dishes that fit in American cupboards.

The color is more burgundy than the orange-red one associates with a "chili" color, but they are beautiful. They are large & colorful...exactly what I wanted. I LOVE the square shape.

I ordered 3 sets & each set was packaged separately & shipped, beautifully packed & arrived with not even one piece chipped!

This is my second set of casual dinnerware, very different from my Sango. They're both perfect for casual entertaining with each setting a very different table with a different mood.

I'm quite looking forward to using my new red Dinnerware at my next fun gathering!

Very pleased with the high quality of the pieces in this set. We bought four sets. Highly recommended. Our cabinets are all 14" deep, so these fit fine.

I just bought 3 boxes of the green corelle dishes and I think they are beautiful. My only complaint is they don't fit in my dishwasher. I can fit 4 of the large dishes in at a time with out much else. And if you're a busy mom like me that is not practical. You may want to measure your dishwasher unless you are the dishwasher.

*UPDATE* 2 years of use, and I've found I shouldn't cook bacon on the plates, nor should I cook Easy Mac in the bowls. Doing this ruined the finish on these dishes, causing it to become dull. The dishes look dirty, even though they aren't. On the plates, there's a permanent dulling in the pattern of the paper towels I had the bacon on. *sigh* So those plates and bowls are designated bacon and Easy Mac dishes, so we can keep the finish looking good on all the other dishes in this set.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The photo here shows the indigo blue as a bright blue, and the box shows it this way too, although a little more on the deep purple side. However, the dishes are really a dark blue. Just..... dark blue, an indigo dark blue. Kinda wish I'd gotten chili red for more bright color on my dining table in that regard. HOWEVER, indigo blue is still a beautiful color, and I get tons of compliments on how cool these dishes are. Even my mom looked at these dishes with envy!

I have four sets for a total of service for 16, all arrived in perfect shape, and I've used these for 10 months solid, daily use and family gatherings, and there's not a ding or chip to be found, and I simply treat them like normal everyday dishes.... I'm kinda clumsy, too, and they've survived. I don't have a problem fitting even the large plates in my dishwasher, and they fit in my turntable microwave, too. For storage, I did have to put the large plates in a different, deep cupboard to get them to fit. No worries. Really, hubby and I use the smaller plates all the time, either because we have smaller portions, or my veggie will be in a bowl so I won't need as much plate room for my meal. I only use the large plates for waffles and for when company comes over, because they'll probably need more plate room for a full meal.

Something to note, my mother-in-law doesn't like these dishes, and not just because *I* picked them out, either! :) She has arthritis, and it apparently hurts to pick up or hold these dishes. I'll be getting a couple regular lightweight Corelle dishes for her & dad-in-law to use when they visit. So, I wouldn't get these dishes as a gift for your arthritis-suffering friends.

I love this set. It's a little heavy but looks so rich and you can put in dishwasher and microwave. I recommend it highly.

I've been looking for squared dishes for two years now, but have not been satisfied enough with what I found to make a purchase. When I saw these 2 months ago, I was intrigued... then I saw them on Amazon *on sale* and immediately purchased them.

Yes, the color is a bit off from the website, and the dinner plates are HUGE, but they are beautiful and very striking!! I ordered three sets: blue, green and red. I am very satisfied so far, and very happy that I waited for these dishes.
