Corelle's Impressions line updates casual dinnerware with contemporary designs. One of those is Coastal Breeze, which displays a freeform sea grass design placed on the left side of the plate. The green and blue tones of the wind-blown grass are echoed by the aqua trim running around the very rim of each off-white piece (except the cup, which is made of stoneware). This is a dinnerware pattern that would look right at home in a beach house, or for summer meals in the city when a breath of fresh sea air would provide welcome relief.
Like all Corelle dinnerware, Coastal Breeze is made of laminated layers of glass that produce incredible strength while being very lightweight, thin, and stackable. This 20-piece set is comprised of four of each of the following: 10-1/4-inch dinner plate, 8-1/2-inch salad plate, 18-ounce cereal or soup bowl, an 8-ounce mug-like cup, and a 6-inch saucer that doubles as a bread-and-butter plate. You'll never have to worry about Corelle designs wearing or scratching off. I purchased two sets. I am giving it five stars because of the beautiful design; there are things that I don't like about the set. The mugs are only 8oz (Who drinks 8oz of coffee?) and the handle is so tiny; can barely fit two of my tiny fingers through them. The cereal/soup bowl is also tiny at 16oz; I prefer 28oz bowl so I ordered its best match which are the Sandstone 28oz bowls to replace them. The dinner and salad plates are so beautiful. My nephew threw one on the floor during one of his fits and I just laughed (not at him), but that he thought he could make me angrier by breaking something...jokes on him. Actually, please do be careful; they do break.

I ordered 2 sets of these dishes and I plan on ordering a third so I have a set for 12. Unlike the previous posters, both of my sets arrived in perfect condition. They are great dishes.

I had a $30 Amazon gift certificate, so I bought two sets of these dishes for a total of $7l.36, but I had the same problem as the previous reviewer. When I opened the boxes, one of the dinner plates was shattered into so many pieces that I couldn't even count them. There was nothing on the outside of the box to indicate that the contents were fragile, and the packing inside the box was not sufficient to protect the contents. When I contacted Amazon's Customer Service Dept. by email, they responded quickly and sent another complete set of dishes which I received in just two days. They also paid for the shipping to return the set with the broken dish.
