Crafted by Corelle for their Livingware line, the tableware set endures the tests of time while striking a nostalgic note with its classic black-and-white pattern. With service for four, each setting includes a 10-1/4-inch dinner plate, a 6-3/4-inch bread-and-butter plate, an 18-ounce soup bowl, and an 11-ounce stoneware mug.
To construct Livingware tableware, Corelle thermally compresses three layers of glass. The resulting product is lighter than other dishware, but more durable than conventional glass. The tableware resists cracks and chips with great success, while the lamination compression process combats stains, scratches, and fading. The mugs feature stoneware construction. The user-friendly plates, bowls, and mugs are dishwasher- and microwave- safe. Plates and bowls can warm contents in conventional ovens up to 350 degrees F. For the best care, avoid soaking the mugs for prolonged periods of time. Corelle discourages the use of abrasives or scouring on these pieces. Users benefit from the three-year limited warranty against breaks and chips. Manufactured in the USA and China, the 16-piece dinnerware set measures 11-2/5 by 10-3/5 by 10-3/5 inches and weighs 9-1/5 pounds.

Many years ago, when Corelle first came out, I had small children, and my sister gave me a gift of Corelle for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful because the children had broken so many plates and cups prior to this durable gift. Through the years, and many moves, I have used ordinary dinnerware. But now, remembering the good quality and other features of Corelle, I decided to rid myself of all the old, heavy dishes and get a small set of dinnerware just for me. I have arthritis in my hands, and the lightness of Corelle is perfect for me. Of course I love the retro look from diners of yore that I ate in as a young woman. Great buy!!

Great for someone just starting out. Far superior to the extremely cheap Wal-Mart/Target dishes. Very durable, very inexpensive, and the set looks fine.
