5.0 out of 5 stars Big! Perfect., June 1, 2008

Great for soup. Not wide so the soup doesn't cool off too quickly. A bit difficult to carry full as they do get hot and have no rim, but we manage. Really perfect for desserts, soups, pasta... anything actually.

these amply large bowls are great for lots of things. So far the one caveat I have about these corelle stuff is that they get rust stains on them that I you can't get off with normal scrubbing. I'm thinking I might have to use something abrasive. the Warning also says you can't pop popcorn in them. Weird to think their glass-like properties are susceptible to such forms of chemical attacks. Need do more investigating.

I am very pleased with this bowl! It is light in weight and easy to clean. It is a good size although one does have to watch portion sizes if on any type of diet. The shape of the bowl allows for any liquids to be better controlled with less splashing for those of us who are a bit messy even if beyond our control. It is also good for Ice Cream of any sort... even sundaes built to your taste cravings!

5.0 out of 5 stars the perfect soup bowl, well worth the price, January 19, 2010

This review is from: Corelle Livingware 28-Ounce Super Soup/Cereal Bowl, Sandstone (Kitchen)
These bowls are great. The standard bowls that come with Corelle's dinnerware sets are nice, but don't hold a whole can of soup. THESE bowls, however, easily accomodate a can with lots of room to spare. And since they're Corelle, they're durable and transfer heat well - i.e., food heats before the bowl does. They also stack well. I bought four of them and will buy more in the future - I wish they sold them in sets!

EDIT: After several months of daily use, I see no scratches or other signs of use.

Good shape so they're easy to scrape clean with a spoon and very large. A jumbo pouch of oatmeal (Kirkland) seems like a tiny portion at the bottom. I don't care how many Fruity Pebbles you eat at a sitting, this thing will hold half a box, so fill it and put that box away, no seconds needed here! Haven't dropped it yet so I can't vouch for Corelle's durability but I'll take their word for it until I do. They stack very nicely and come apart rather than biting together making separation a pain...like stacking pint glasses...bad idea, but no worries about that with this nice bowl.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight, Durable, and Practical, September 16, 2009
This review is from: Corelle Livingware 28-Ounce Super Soup/Cereal Bowl, Sandstone (Kitchen)
I've had my Corelle Livingware bowls for many years. They are lightweight and - just like Corelle claims - they are break and chip resistant (I've never broken one yet!). These bowls are small but they are fairly deep; 2-3/4" deep to be precise. They are 5-3/4-inch wide (6-1/4" across rim-to-rim). These bowls are the perfect size for a small serving of soup or cereal (or anything else for that matter). I also use them for portion control. The Corelle Livingware bowls are dishwasher and microwave safe and they are made in the USA. I couldn't be more happy with them!
