5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Fabulous!
The description for the Corelle Geometric dinnerware is confusing but the set is so fab it deserves all 5 stars.

Each 16-pc boxed set contains 4 of each - 10.25 inch dinner plates, 6.75 inch bread/dessert plates, 18 oz. soup/cereal bowls, 11 oz. stoneware mugs. (Being practical and not wanting to slop liquid all over the place, it's more like 12 oz. for the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Color is not the same
I ordered these thinking they had a black and grey pattern. I got them in yesterday and they are actually Brown, with Green and peach like color. This is not what I expected at all, not happy about the colors. They need to put a color description to match the actual item or change the picture.

(Being practical and not wanting to slop liquid all over the place, it's more like 12 oz. for the bowls and 10 oz. for the mugs.)

The pattern is done in a mocha brown, warm beige and cool celadon (a pale sea-green...I had to look that one up in the dictionary) on a bright white ground. And, all the dinnerware pieces have the pattern though, for some reason, the bowls are printed with only the mocha color.

The stoneware mugs are a vast improvement over the tiny teacups in the older sets. They are big enough for that java in the morning or a great cup of cocoa at night. My hubby appreciates the bigger handles.

Get a set or two of these in your hands for a cool 50s retro look.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Correlle..., March 8, 2007
This review is from: Corelle Livingware Geometric 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (Kitchen)
I'm a dish breaker so I love Corelle for that if nothing else but the Geometric pattern fits so perfectly with the decor of my home- I just love it. I would like to recommend that Amazon get a different picture to display with this product because eventhough I was smart enough to realize that a sixteen piece set would only include 4 of 4 types of items (Large plate, small plate, bowl and cup) but as I read other reviews it was pointed out that it was false advertising because the pcture shows 5 pieces but I hate to say it- common sense should have prevailed. But since it isn't as obvious to some changing that picture might be a good idea :-) Go ahead- order it you'll love it. FYI- the bowls only have one color squares (brown) but that is the main color for my theme so it worked out perfectly. Enjoy your dishes! And thanks to Amazon.com for offering this at such a great price (compare other sites and you'll see Amzon.com is a lower price).

1.0 out of 5 stars Description / Item does not match photo on web site, May 27, 2005
This review is from: Corelle Livingware Geometric 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (Kitchen)
The photo on the website shows 5 different pieces - the set only has 4. Also, the description does not indicate that the mugs included with this set are made of stoneware, not the corelle material.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not happy, May 23, 2009
This review is from: Corelle Livingware Geometric 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (Kitchen)
I have owned Corelleware for all of my 40 years of marriage, and this is the first time that I had a set that has warped! My water is at 120 in my water heater and I don't dry dishes in the dishwasher, so I don't know why they would do this. Several of my plates and a couple saucers have done that. I wish Corelle would go back to making the cups in the same material as the rest of the dishes. Maybe I will try the Ultra if they come up with a nice pattern in it.

I was looking to replace my thick, heavy Wachersbach set. When you have a small space, every inch counts!! I ordered 2 sets and they are great. All 8 plates stack in the space of 2 of my ceramic set. As a matter of fact, the entire 2 sets of Corelle take up less space than just my old dinner plates. It has provided me a lot of extra cupboard space which is great. Added bonus is I can take out 8 plates with one hand, no chipping, no wrist strain! I too noticed that the print on the bowls was only in the brown color. I called the Corelle hotline (phone number is enclosed with the set), and they said that was the way the pattern was made -- all the bowls only have the brown on them, no other color. Not a big deal to me because I don't expect The Queen Of England over for dinner any time soon. I actually ordered more matching dinner plates from the Corelle hotline. They sell for $1.79 each plus a small shipping fee. They came in about 3 days. I would have ordered another complete set of dishes, but I don't need that many coffee cups. By the way, the cups are a pretty nice size compared to the old "teacup" style. They just don't stack well. I did notice that the plates and bowls are made in USA, while the cups are made in (where else?) China. Kind of a bummer in that respect, but the dishes are great. I did notice the price on Amazon keeps fluctuating from 22 to 34 bucks -- what's that about?

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly manufactured, March 26, 2010
This review is from: Corelle Livingware Geometric 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 (Kitchen)
The design was missing on some of the plates. I was really disappointed since that is the reason I got the set and it's the only thing that gives them any type of appeal. Its a big package so it's not worth it to return it and wait for another one so I am stuck with it. Guess I am not ordering plate sets anymore from here.

It's a good set compare to price, but the cups are mode in china so the quality is quite different from the rest of the set.

I picked these up for $35 a set, they've since dropped to $29 at Amazon.

I haven't used the set yet, but I took them out of the box and the pattern is pretty nice- I was looking for a contemporary/modern look, but without having to spend the $80/set for the other Corelle sets with the square plates. What looks dark grey in the photo is really a lighter shade of brown, however. That was a bit disappointing, but the colorset is generally very neutral so it will not clash.

Corelle plates are the best... lightweight and break resistant. Again, I have not used this set yet, but I expect them to be just as good as my mom's old Corelle set, but without the flower prints.

I don't care for this pattern. It looks different on the computer. The colors don't match on the actual dishes.
