This listing fails to mention that these dishes are from the Ultra line which are significantly thicker and heavier than just the normal square dishes Corelle has recently released. This is fabulous because I was concerned that the old Corelle I remember is a bit thin. These carry a 5-year warranty vs. the regular 3-yr.

This pattern is more beautiful in person; the leaves have a great texture to them. The pattern is softer and less "limey" in person (in a good way). Don't shy away from Corelle because they aren't known for style (I almost did). The durability and beauty of these dishes are unmatched in my opinion. Purchased two sets for special occassion dinners and everyday use.

We've been getting sick of replacing dishes, so I spent some time looking around for the perfect set. Corelle was hands-down what all the other parents recommended for durable microwave-safe dishes - they can even be used in the oven! I loved the Ultra 5yr warrenty and the style of Corelle's square dishes. This was the only square Ultra pattern, however, and while I liked bamboo I wasn't sure about the precise shade of green.

Thanks to another reviewer who said the green wasn't actually so limey, I decided to give them a try. They just arrived, and I love them! The green is subtley different - a little less yellow, just enough to make it feel bright and peaceful rather than overly attention-grabbing. The square dishes are novel without being weird. I used the bowl for breakfast, and found that the square shape makes it easier to pick up and carry to and from the table. When I heated the bowl in the microwave, it did get warm - but I could pick it up by the rim right away. This wasn't true for our old melamine plastic dishes. The dishes stack efficiently in the cupboard - I was shocked but pleased by the flatness of the final stack of plates.

We bought two sets, and I am so glad we did. I would hate to decide later on we want enough dishes for company and not have the pattern being made any more! I hope Corelle makes more Ultra square patterns. This pattern is good for our family, but most of my friends would probably prefer a simple modern-looking floral pattern, like the normal line of square dishes' pink flowers pattern.

Oh, it's a bit hard to see - but yes, the cups are a rounded square on top, too. It looks really cool.

I spent a lot of time looking at Corelle patterns, and after buying some "a la carte" pieces of the highly praised SCANDIA in the Ultra line, I decided I wanted a patterned Ultra piece. I decided on this one. The whole time I waited for delivery, I worried that I'd chosen poorly--that it was too much lime color, that it was too busy in terms of pattern, that the bowl was weird.

Well, they arrived, and I am delighted. The color is indeed--as another reviewer mentioned--less bright/limey than the picture here on amazon. It's still green and still bright, mind you, just a more pleasant shade than the pic here shows. It does have gradations of color and a certain "texturey" feel. I love, love the mugs, even though they don't feel "Corelle-y", which I like and have in another set of cups. I'm a klutz, so anything that cuts down the chance of breakage, I'm there.

The ULTRA line is terrific. I had an old set of regular Corelle Callaway that I retired. Have pieces of another regular Corelle design (Heirloom Bloom). But the ULTRA line is a real delight. Thicker, more substantial. The Scandia is amazingly glossy and elegant for Corelle. And this one, the Rivage, has a wonderful "spring" feel with its green and budding leaves pattern. The green stripe has the effect of a nice bit of tablecloth/runner, like soft green linen. It's a pleasure to eat off these plates and drink my coffee/tea from the cups.

Kudos to [...] for getting them to me FAST, for having a great reduced price, and for a no-fuss delivery that brought all the pieces to me unbroken. I'm very pleased. I only regret that I don't have space in my cabinets for another full set. These are nifty dishes. I may order a full set of SCANDIA or a compatible design to Rivage, and that way mix-n-match the 8 person setting so it's not totally matchy-matchy and has some eye interest. With the ULTRA line having spoiled me, I don't want to go back to regular Corelle. I hope they come out with more patterns. Good stuff.

I purchased two sets after searching online nearly a week for some new daily dinnerware. After reading the other reviews on this set, I decided to go with these. I'm happy to report it was a good choice. I'm well pleased with these dishes and reccomend them highly to anyone searching for quality dinnerware at a reasonable price. I'm now purchasing my third set because it's on sale at a greater discount than before....

I have always loved corelleware, but this heavy-weight stuff is even better than the original.

Great product...however they claim to be scratch resistant...and that is what they are...resistant. If you cut or scrape a fork on the design (which is textured) it will leave a slight, barely noticable mark. Otherwsie, great product. I bought the same in cherry blossom...hated the design...it looked blurry and kind of made me dizzy looking at it. This design is good. I would recommend this one or the 4 Dots.

I was very pleased with my recent purchase from Amazon.com. i was scared at first if all the pieces would come without being chipped or broken in the shipment. Everything arrived at my doorstep without any beakage and besides that I had to pay no local taxes or shipping and handling fee. The price I paid was better than that of Walmart or any Corelle outlet store.

I just got my dishes today. I have had a few corelle sets, but they do not compare to the Ultra. I just ordered another set. They are casual and classy too. Very substantial and even prettier than the picture. I love, love, love them and you will too! Can't wait to use them at my dinner party tomorrow night.

I was so excited to receive my new Rivage dinnerware today. I served my hot meal onto a plate, then sat the plate on the granite countertop. The plate shattered immediately. What a bummer!

The Corelle Ultra line with a 5 yr guarantee is worth the extra money. Definitely thicker and more durable. The square shape is easy to get used to and fits in the dishwasher easily. A few years ago I had the lower cost Corelle and it chipped quickly. Once the Corelle is chipped, it's basically useless because the chips are dangerously sharp. Bottom line, go for the 5yr guarantee. The Rivage design in real life are much better than the photos.
