Love Corelle,
By T in AZ (Glendale, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Corelle Square Round 16-Piece Dinnerware Set Ocean Arc (Kitchen)
I purchased this as a replacement for a 20 year old set of Corelle dishes. Not because there was anything wrong with them, but because I was ready for a change. This is a really nice set and you can't beat the quality of Corelle. My only complaint is the lighter stripes look grey in the picture, but they are actually a light green.

Unique Items for the Price,
This review is from: Corelle Square Round 16-Piece Dinnerware Set Ocean Arc (Kitchen)
I ordered four sets to replace a collection of broken and replaced items (the replaced items never really matching) accumulated over decades. Some of the mismatching replacements were by Corelle. That's where we learned two things: Corelle breaks, but requires a high level of abuse before it does. No simple chips here. Corelle either shatters, or doesn't. Mostly it doesn't. Second, Corelle really fits the dishwasher well, better than anything else I have ever used.
Ocean Arc, the set I ordered, looks nice. The grayish lines on the plates are greenish in the cups. The plates and bowels are made in the United States; the cups in China. The plates are relatively large. The length of a side matches the diameter of a round plate. In other words, they actually hold more than their round counterparts. They all stack beautifully, taking about a quarter of the space as the same amount of stoneware. The 12 ounce cups are taller than the standard, 10 ounce mug. They are a bit narrower at the base, and quite a bit taller. They, like the plates, are squared off, but mercifully not by much. They can be stacked two high in the cupboard. The comfortable handle was a pleasant surprise. In short, these are good, rugged, easy to work with, daily dishes, sold at a good price.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Corelle Square Round 16-Piece Dinnerware Set Ocean Arc (Kitchen)
This is my third set of Corelle and I am especially pleased with it. I purchased two sets for 8 settings. And it's true, the packaging is truly no hassle. No clamshell plastic. The dishes' design is low-key pastel and contemporary, so it'll be a while before I tire of it. The square dishes fit in the cabinets welland take up less space than the round ones because they stack nicely. The cups are actually mugs and there are no saucers, which I REALLY like. I never used saucers anyway. However, I've found the small bases on the mugs causes them to be a tip-prone if you're not careful. The salad plates are big and serve as dinner plates for the kids and those us who always watching our portion sizes. I highly recommend the set.
