First I must say the Connectivity modules by themselves work great. I purchased the kit which included one power line noise filter.

As a result of internet research and simplicity in use. I purchased the Corinex HD Video Connectivity Kit in order to connect my new Blu Ray player on the first floor of my house to my router on the second floor. The kit...

I bought this powerline ethernet connectivity kit to avoid running additional wires to the other end of the house for wireless and ethernet connectivity. After spending a lot of time looking at all of the competitors, I decided that Corinex addressed all of the possible problems with powerline ethernet while most of the competitors ignored them. I have a WildBlue satellite modem connected to a Linksys wireless and ethernet broadband router connected to a Corinex powerline box into a wall plug and then at the other end of the house a Corinex powerline ethernet box connected to a Belkin broadband router (wireless and ethernet). Since the Corinex boxes are on different phases (think different halves of the wiring circuit for your house) I bought the Corinex power phase coupler and plugged it into my clothes dryer outlet and then the clothes dryer into the coupler. Powered everything on and was able to connect to the internet immediately from the distant Belkin wireless router! I then discovered over two days that I couldn't connect to the internet through the belkin in the evenings but could in the morning..a little thought an detective work... when my satellite tv receiver was turned on (yes I live out in the boonies).. the network went down. But didn't I tell you Corinex thought out the problems? This kit comes with a Corinex powerline filter.. I used it to connect the TV and Satellite TV receiver to the powerline and everything works great all of the time!

I suspect if you're using someone elses equipment you might still be interested in the Corinex phase coupler and powerline filter....

1.0 out of 5 stars Corinex HD Video Connectivity Kit simply does not work, February 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Corinex HD Video Connectivity Kit does not work.

I ordered a set which included two adapters plus a line filter, and another set that included just two (2) adapters. I opened the set with two adapters and a line filter, followed Corinex's instructions. (1st AV 200 is plugged into electrical outlet, Cable Modem is plugged into the 1st AV 200 via an Ethernet cable. 2nd AV 200 is plugged into a second electrical outlet, PC is plugged into the 2nd AV 200 via an Ethernet cable.) Both adapters were in the same room. The adapters would not talk to each other. Both adapters had the same Manufacturer IP address so I followed Corinex's instructions to connect to an adapter through my browser. It did not work. I could not log into the adapter. I used the ping command and was able to see the adapter but could not do anything with it. I emailed Corinex (they only let you talk to tech support through email, not by phone) who put me in touch with an engineer. The engineer located in Western Canada told me to try a number of things none of which worked. He finally stopped answering my email messages. I ended up sending both sets back (one placed back in its original carton and the other never opened) and as an extra bonus Amazon charged me a 20% restocking fee.

The kit included two connectivity modules and one powerline noise filter. I purchased the kit instead of just the two connectivity modules because I had previous powerline noise problems.

When I connected everything, the kit did not work. I thought the reason was because I needed another powerline filter for the second module. I ordered one and installed it. This did not solve my problem.

I called Corinex tech services. The tech suggested I might have an electrical phase problem and suggested purchasing their power phase coupler. I did and still no results.

In frustration, I removed both powerline filters and the power phase coupler. Now everything works fine with just the two connectivity modules.

Two other notes:

1. Suggest reading the posted review by W.Thompson on the Corinex HD Video Connectivity Kit which includes one powerline filter. He found it necessary to use one powerline filter and the powerline phase module.

2. I have since discovered via the internet that I could have achieved the same results by using a "wireless bridge" (available on Amazon)for far less money.

1.0 out of 5 stars lousy service, April 27, 2009
This review is from: Corinex HD Video Connectivity Kit (Personal Computers)
Corinex does not stand behind their products. They wouldn't know what "customer service" was if it dropped on their collective heads with a sign and a list of instructions.

The product works, but after 11 months mine failed. I returned it to Corinex at my expense (of course). They recognized the units were under warrantee, but denied the problem and are returning the units to me unrepaired and at my expense (again).

Do not buy from this company. Netgear makes a similar product.
