Kindle Top #20 Bestseller

She’s short. She’s feisty. She’s sexy. She’s Mom. Meet FBI Agent, Abby Kane.

In the quiet Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, a mutilated body has the residents nervous and for good reason. Detroit Metro Police recognize the handiwork of the serial killer known as the Doctor. But there’s a problem with that. They locked him up seven years ago.

Because of her expertise with serial killers, former hotshot detective and now FBI agent, Abby Kane, is tasked with figuring out how this madman is able to kill again. When she visits The Doctor behind bars, he swears he’s innocent and not the psychopath everyone thinks he is. Oddly enough, Abby believes him.

Corktown is a page-turning thriller that dives headfirst into the grit of Detroit, exploring government corruption and deadly violence.

From the Author

Corktown is the first book in my Abby Kane FBI thrillers. It's got a bit of police procedural mixed in with mystery and romance.

I've been asked where I got the idea for her, since she is so different from my other series character, Darby Stansfield. Well, here's the answer. It's a continuation of a short story I wrote titled, The Perfect Plan. You can find it as an ebook on Amazon if you're interested but mind you there is graphic language.

If you're a fan of FBI Agent Abby Kane, thank you. You might try my Darby Stansfield thrillers. Readers have described the series as Tarantino meets The Office with a splash of romantic supsense. Darby is an odd character, often very polarizing for the reader. You will either hate him or love him. You can voice your opinion by taking the Darby Poll on my blog. Thanks.

A lot of people like to read my books in the order that I write them.

At first I was a tad disappointed that this novel was not about Darby and his adventurous exploits. It did not take me very long to realize that Ty's writing style is alive and well in Corktown.

I was immediately drawn into this story of a demure Chinese FBI agent as she goes to Michigan to help the locals solve a series of murders. Ty has again crafted a character that warrants his style. I enjoy that Abby is tough, has a great sense of humor, is a bit raunchy at times, and can carry the load of keeping the reader engrossed.

The storyline is fluid and kept me fully involved. It is a different type of murder mystery in that we find out who the murderer is mid way through the novel. The story is about how Abby goes about deducing and solving the murders.

The characters are fully developed and I was able to visualize their individual traits. I could almost feel them as the story unfolded.

I highly recommend that you buy this, and for that matter, all of Ty Hutchinson's work - you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Murders, coverups and justice October 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
If you are a fan of Ty Hutchinson, here's another great read. If you don't know Ty Hutchinson yet, you should read this one.

I was lucky to receive an advanced copy. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

FBI Agent Abby Kane is good at her job. So much so that Detroit has asked her and her partner Agent Trey Wilkinson to come and help solve a series of murders that are happening in the city. A series of murder that have the same M.O. as murders that were done years ago, except that they had convicted someone for those, and he was serving his time in prison, so how could he be doing these new murders? Is it a copycat?

This is not a who-done-it, as the reader finds out who is responsible for the murders early on, just the detectives don't know who did it. This is a why, how and how far does it go? Work along with Abby and Trey as they try to find out the killer. Everyone turn they take seems to be shot down, previous files with no notes, no one willing to talk to them about the truth, if they are even still alive. How far does this go? As Abby was told, this is bigger than you can imagine.

Short chapters make it an easy read, but you'll want to keep turning the pages to get to the end. You'll feel for Abby and every move she makes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Vulgar March 31, 2013
By Debbie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't consider myself a prude but nowhere in the reviews that I read, and I thought I read a lot of them, did it say how sexually vulgar and explicit this book is. I got as far as chapter 16 thinking, hoping, it would "cool down". It didn't, so I deleted it. Nothing against people who enjoy this style of book but not my thing. I am new to e-reading and would like to see ratings like we see in movies. Also, I guess I need to pay attention to the Look Inside option.

5.0 out of 5 stars A riveting tale November 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Corktown is a riveting tale that will keep you up at night. A mystery about a serial killer and the FBI agent that will stop at nothing. The novel has a fast pace, with short chapters, interesting and realistic dialogue and a plausible course of events.

The plot and the characters in this book are very well done. The book would have received more stars from me if the editing hadn't gotten in the way. Unfortunately, the editing (or lack of) was worse the further I got into the book. It appears that too much credence was given to spellcheck, instead of a live person reading the book. Errors abound: "then" for "than," "you're" for "your" and "suite" for "suit," and more.

It seemed that just as I was getting back into the book after the previous error, I'd run across another. It's a shame because the writing is strong, and harmed by the careless editing.

1.0 out of 5 stars such a disappointment August 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story line was good but it was written somewhat child like, rushed and weak. I was really disappointed, I would not recommend and will not read the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Superb March 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was excellent. There were actually two mysteries. One was the mystery of the serial killers, but the other was of a coverup (or series of coverups).

1.0 out of 5 stars Yes a man wrote this about a female.... February 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I thought I would give this book and author a try but 6 chapters in I cannot make myself read more. No sense of suspense and I am no prude but this book should have a warning label for its graphic sexual content that adds nothing to the story. I very rarely put down a book without finishing it even if its a hard read but his one is not worth my time

1.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre story, juvenile porn
I can't decide whether it's porn masquerading as a detective story, or a detective story masquerading as porn. Neither are very good. Perhaps using a good editor would help. Read more
