Spread it on my lawn and it did turn my grass from yellow-ish to very beautiful green (though not truly dark green yet).

In terms of weeds control, since I don't have enough comparison, I cannot judge. Weeds are still popping up but not too much. I can hand pull them.

Quite happy with it. Because it's organic and slow release. I really don't like these "Weed & Feed" products. Only caveat is that I cannot overseeding in 6 months -- that means I will have to pass this fall. Planned to spread one more time in Oct. Then overseeding next April.

It was almost as expected. It is granulated as described although the grains are larger than what is seen in the photo. I used a mill to grind it finer and it's working as expected.

In terms of pre-emergent herbicide, I'm not sure how it worked. We had some weird weather in Iowa this year (see: we got something like five inches of snow in the first week of May, not typical for us) about a month after I'd already put the corn gluten meal down. I'm not sure when I SHOULD have put it up but I know our yard is pretty middle-of-the-road in terms of dandelion population. I have neighbors with TONS of dandelions and neighbors with practically none (I'm assuming they chemical-treated, although I really don't know.)

Our grass looks fantastic now, about 5 weeks later, though. It's a much richer green than the surrounding grass and is growing handily...which may or may not be a good thing given that I've just got a manual lawnmower :p

Product was purchased from Amazon as a weed preventative. It does this very well. I put it down in the fall around mid October. When spring rolled around new weeds were obviously suppressed. I've since found a local supplier, and avoid the hefty shipping fee, and use it spring and fall.

Two 50 pound bags arrived in two tyvec type bags in two very sturdy cartons with no leaks whatsoever. The product was in more of a small "pellet" form rather than the fine powder previously used. It actually spread very well. I feel it was worth the cost of the product and shipping expenses for the convenience and quality.

Its organic, so it's not going to work as well as chemical. But...
I used a landscaper for 2 years and they did a great job. They used chemicals, but the price was getting out of hand. Transitioned over to self care and completely messed up my front and back yard. Did not have any idea about pre-emergent herbicides.

I did a comparison between my front and back yard using liquid corn gluten and this product 3 years ago, and hands down the granulated corn gluten was much more effective in preventing weeds.
Over the last 3 years I've been using corn gluten twice a year and have slowly seen about a 70% reduction in weeds. I still need to do some hand weeding, and I have few areas of dutch clover that the corn gluten does nothing against. But my front yard was mostly weeds one year, and then I got it to 80% grass using this product by the following year. I do not grind it down, I just dump 30lbs/1000 sq. ft. You still need to do a lot of hand weeding as well. But I never worry about chemicals when my kids are playing in the yard.

I applied it when the dogwoods were blooming (in Georgia). There seems to be less crabgrass. Unfortunately, the timing was not right for the other weeds-- they're growing nicely :)

This is a great product which is quite effective as a fertilizer and as an organic is not in any way harmful .

did not work as good as I thought it would. To prevent weed growth.

My lawn is no greener than my neighbors who didn't use corn gluten meal or fertilizer... plus I've had an explosion of chick weed. Can't blame the corn gluten, but I never had this weed before. Hopefully, the crab grass will be contained.
