Price and performance,

I just purchased this monitor along with a Viewsonic VB50HRTV tuner module to do double duty as a TV and computer monitor in my study. The monitor is beautifully designed with a compact and shallow case and thin bezel.Installation on a Windows98 system was effortless using the enclosed CD-ROM. Upon initial start-up I was impressed with the brightness and contrast level of the picture. There were no dead Pixels at all. The picture was sharp and clear for both text and graphics. Very impressive! On-screen controls were intuitive and easy to set. I had initiall looked at the Samsung line of LCD monitors as I have had very good luck with their CRT units. The Cornea MP704 seemed to have equal or better specs for considerably less money. Cornea offers a 3-year advanced replacement warranty and toll free support (which I haven't used). Using this unit with the Viewsonic tuner produced a good, if somewhat overly sharp television picture. Certainly good enough for casual viewing. All in all this is an excellent unit fo rthe price and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-sized LCD monitor in the sub-[$$$] range.

Good monitor when you get a good one,

First I'll say right off that the Cornea customer service knocked 1 star off the rating all by itself. If you have to deal with returns, it can be a laborious and time consuming process. The Cornea folks are nice, but their system stinks. I bought 2 of these for a dual monitor setup. One was fuzzy and "blinked" (can you imagine anything more annoying than the screen turning off for a full second or two every few minutes??). So I got all the prior approvals and sent it back. They sent back to me the same monitor unfixed. Frustrated, I got the ball rolling again. About 6 weeks after my initial purchase I was sitting in front of two very nice LCD monitors.Monitor Quality Adjustability Native Resolution Native resolution (the number of physical pixels on the monitor) is 1280x1024. Plan on using this resolution. Anything else will result in a fuzzier look. And the native resolution is SO sharp you won't think twice about it.

This monitor is an excilent ballance between price and preformance, and surely didn't dissapoint me.I purchaced one of these durring the January rebate cycle, meaning it was fairly cheap. Brought it home, and hooked it up along the side of my 17" CRT, attempting to use them dual-monitor style. In the cource of 3 days, I had decided that the CRT absolutely had to go, and I went to buy another of these beautiful monitors. I now have 2 running in dual-display mode on my GeForce 4600 Ti, using a DVI>VGA adapeter for one of the monitors, and it is stunning. These displays are excilent for gaming/graphics design/dvd movies/anything I have thrown at them. They arrived in flawless condition (no dead pixels or the such), and remain that way. I have not had to mess with the settings on them once, only auto-adjusting when nessasary (which is a great feature in itself). My only dissapointments: lack of an DVI interface and I found the VGA cables too short. I had to go out and purchace a 12' VGA cable in order to use one of the LCDs on my desk, a minor detail, but annoying to say the least ;) So, I'll sum it up: Pros: Price Cons: No DVI

I've been using LCD monitors of different brand names at work. I bought this Cornea MP704B for my own PC at home. For the price, this Cornea is the best, especially if you look at it at an angle. If you are in digital photo and have your own darkroom on your PC, this LCD screen is a must, since it depicts the colors (multi) excellently.

Crisp & Clear Viewing,

I got this monitor for work. I just love it! I was pleasantly surprised at the clarity of the images once I "programmed" the image settings -- which was easy to do (touch buttons on panel to modify). The screen size was larger than my old monitor, which made viewing easier on my eyes. This was an added bonus, since I work on the computer all day. For the price (great value), I think this is a great monitor. I would highly recommend for those who are budget conscience and value shoppers.

Great monitor, great price,

I was skeptical when I started to consider buying this monitor. Who has ever heard of Cornea Systems, and why is this monitor so inexpensive? Well, I did my research and was quite surprised! This monitor received great reviews on other web sites as well as here at Amazon. Based on the reviews and the price, I went ahead and bought it.I've had it for two weeks and I will never go back to a CRT. This monitor has a bright and beautiful picture. There were no dead pixels. Setup was very easy. I now have so much extra space on my desk! In the reviews this monitor was reported to pass the Nokia screen test. This is a series of benchmark tests measuring monitor performance and capabilities. Since I do some gaming online, this fact was important to me. I can play Battlefield 1942 with no problems. In addition, I don't get a headache looking at this monitor as I sometimes did looking at a CRT. If you are considering this monitor, Amazon is a great place in my opinion to get it. If you don't like it you have 30 days to return it. This thing is so light weight that Amazon's 2-day air shipping cost less than the sales tax I would have had to pay buying it offline. The monitor has a great 3-year warranty too. Go Cornea!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cornea MP704B 17" LCD Monitor (Electronics)
After considerable research comparing LCD monitor specs and trying out a couple of monitors, Samsung and MAG,I went with this Cornea MP704. The other reviewers who rated this monitor were right on the money, this is an exceptional value. Setup was easy and the picture quality is great. If you are looking for a LCD monitor with great specs, reasonable price and without extra features like speakers... this Cornea is definitely worth a look. Get a good video card which makes a big difference in display quality. One other observation, the monitor was made in Korea, so I would bet it is made at the same factory as Samsung LCD monitors.

It's true: you get what you pay for. I was very excited to find a 17-inch LCD selling for [$] (after rebate), but the picture turned out to be atrocious. I tried it with two different machines running different video cards, so that wasn't the problem. I then set up a ViewSonic LCD I happened to have on hand and it looked dramatically sharper. Based on the other reviews here, I suppose I could have gotten a bad unit. But I have to advise anyone who does a lot of word processing or Web browsing to steer clear of this monitor. It's really hard on the eyes. NOTE: Huge kudos to Amazon.com, which not only shipped the monitor here for free, but provided a prepaid UPS label when I decided to return it. That's incredible service.

Fuzzy and blurry,
By A Customer

Beware of planted reviews by this shady company! Go to any CompUSA store and check out their Cornea monitors on display. I've been to three stores and found all the demo units extremely fuzzy to the extend of being unreadable. The salesmen then steered me to other brands. So before you go for an off brand like this, check it out in person first. All the reviews here sound suspiciously rosy for a terrible brand like this.

This LCD monitor is GREAT!!!! Just swapped out from a 19" CRT for this 17" LCD.. and its a welcomed improvement. Its practically the same screen real estate, but 1/10th of the desktop real estate compared to my older 19" CRT occupied. It sure is nice to have my desk back now. Its hard to find a 17" with 500:1 ratio @ this price point... go ahead keep looking.... you'll end up coming back OR spending ... more. :-)
