It is hard to find entertainment that can be viewed by the whole family. Corner Gas fits the bill. is clever, clean and entertaining. It is amazing what can be done on a fairly small budget outside of the traditional media centers (NY, Hollywood, Vancouver, Toronto). Enjoy.

Corner Gas - Its' A Gas! Best "Clean" Comedy on TV Since Andy Griffith!(As far as I've seen on station WGN, no P.C. undercurrents in the scripts - so SICK of that in American "sitcoms".) So, giving a shout of "Thanks" to all the aggravating writers for going on "Strike" this year! Ya broadened our horizions:into Canadian television and its' lovely countryside. Our "Viewing" habits will never be the same again....

Corner Gas has to be the best show on TV. The comedy is subtle yet intelligent, there are no laugh tracks and the cast is top-notch! I'm so glad CTV released it to the U.S. so we can all share in this gem of a show. I can't wait until Seasons 5 and 6 (when 6 is over, it being the final season of CG...sadly) come out on DVD so I can have the entire collection. Definitely buy this set; you won't be disappointed!

If you have never seen or heard of Corner Gas you might just love the Canadian Humor from the folks of Dog River...I found this show one night while surfing channels and at first I thought it was a strange show, so I watched another time and...Now I am hooked on this show. Oscar Leroy is my Favorite, but I also love Hank,Brent, Davis,Karen, Wanda, Lacey,etc. The Theme songs are Great!
I love what happens when "Wullerton" is mentioned......Give it a try, I own Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 and waiting on 5...LOL.

These DVDs are wonderful! In the USA we used to get the shows on TBS, but they quit carrying them and never had the final season. These hit the spot, work great, and have provided many hours of entertainment. Thanks!!

If you love wit both covert and overt you will love this series.
Excellent setting and characters.

Would it be going too far to say this is the funniest thing to come out of Canada since "Second City TV?" Or that it's the most hilarious sitcom you've probably never heard of?

If it is, it wouldn't be much too far . . .

"Corner Gas" is "Seinfeld" on the flat plains of Saskatchewan, a show from a tiny town where there's not a lot going on, but will leave you weak from laughter.

Canada has actually produced more than it's share of funny men and women, but most of them take the first opportunity to head south of the border to ply their trade. And there's not a lot of original Canadian television of any type that tends to catch our attention in the U.S.

But Brent Butt is the exception. The popular stand-up comedian created this sitcom several years ago, and it's still going strong on CTV, now in its sixth and final season.

The show revolves around Butt's Brent Leroy, who runs the only gas station for miles around in Dog River, Saskatchewan. And like trying to describe "Seinfeld," you can't do the show justice trying to reduce it to a few lines. Life in a small town has rarely been this funny or bizarre.

Rounding out an oustanding ensemble cast are Eric Peterson and Janet Wright as Brent's parents, the irascible Oscar and Emma; Fred Ewanuick as his best friend, Hank; Nancy Robertson, as his one employee, Wanda; Gabrielle Miller, as Lacy, who runs the cafe next door; and Lorne Cardinal and Tara Spencer-Nairn as the local police force, Davis and Karen.

It's the writing that makes "Corner Gas" truly outstanding, stretching simple ideas to incongruous conclusions, and making the show so popular in Canada that two sitting prime ministers have made cameo appearances.

Since it's available only through Canadian sources, "Corner Gas" DVDs are pretty expensive, so before shelling out big bucks, you might want to check out a few episodes on American TV. Yes, it's actually being shown here. WGN has the U.S. cable rights, and gives the show regular prime-time play.

Check out a few episodes of the show that's forty kilometres from nowhere and way beyond normal, and you'll be hooked.

When on vacation with family in the Bahamas, we came upon this show while having a midnight snack in the hotel room. None of us had ever seen or heard of it before, but we left it on to see what it was about. We were immediately hooked! The script was so clever, and the we were laughing the whole time. I was disappointed to discover upon arriving back home that my cable provider does not carry the channel this show is on (I live in New York), so I immediately came to this site to purchase the DVDs for my family. I highly recommend getting these even if you haven't seen the show before. You will not regret it!

I just wish that more people knew about this show. This just gos to show that you don't need a big budget to produce a great show
