Outstanding second album,

Holly achieved a certain level of success in the late eighties and early nineties without really making it big. With such illustrious backing vocalists on this album as Beth Nielsen Chapman (on three tracks), Emmylou Harris (on Fewer threads than these) and Sharon and Cheryl White (on Little frame house), Holly clearly commanded the respect of other singers. Although the album has a contemporary edge, this album has plenty to offer fans of traditional country music.
In my favorite track here (Why Wyoming), Holly asks why the cowboy she loves prefers the wide-pen spaces to any woman. Among the other highlights are the title track, Strangers again, Fewer threads than these, Love someone like me and Little frame house, but every song here is superb. The big country hits from this album can be found on Holly's greatest hits collection (Milestones), which is much easier to find these days, but if you can find a copy of this album, don't miss the chance to do so.
