I have to start by saying these casserole dishes are beautiful and I love the shade of blue. They are sturdy, and I was very proud to serve dinner in them!

The problem I've found so far:

The first thing I made in them is spaghetti. I cooked everything and then combined them in this casserole dish and put them in the oven for several hours to simmer. The rim to the lid stained red from the sauce. Now I know that spaghetti sauce can be daunting to clean off of many surfaces, but i'd assumed these days, most products would be manufactured with this in mind. I was shocked when I washed the lid and the exposed 'stoneware' rim (the rest of the dish is coated with a finish you'd find on pottery..the term escapes me right now) and I couldn't get the red stain off form the tomato. I used a dishwashing soap, baking soda, ajax, sponge, mr. clean magic sponge, Oxyclean and several laundry detergent stain removers. It didn't come out in the dishwasher either.

Its unfortunate because this keeps the product from being, basically, perfect. I'd still order them again, the rest of its attributes are worth it and I don't know how noticable it would be to others...but i'd take that into consideration.

I love this casserole set. It is easy to use, attractive and cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.
