This set of casserole dishes is really nice. The shape and color are beautiful, and the items feel sturdy. Also, the smaller size is perfect for heating soup or frozen veggies in the microwave, and the larger size is just right for most casserole recipes. If you want something other than the usual white or clear but don't want to spend a lot for something artsy or handpainted, this set would be a very good choice.

Although it carries the Corningware name, this is not true Corningware. It is stoneware.

Shame on me for seeing the beautiful color, seeing the name "Corningware," and assuming this was real Corningware.

You cannot use it on a cooktop; I would not put it in the freezer.

The booklet that came with the set says: Do not Use on Stovetop, Avoid Sudden Temperature Changes; there are three "Do Not's" for using in a microwave; Also tells you not to use after it becomes chipped, severely scratched, "Do not use abrasive cleansers, scouring pads, or any object that will scratch stoneware items."

Instructions say: "Do not use under a broiler/ griller, in a toaster oven, or on or near any other direct heating source such as range heat, vents, open flames, etc."

So.... that being said, it is pretty, bakes casseroles well in the oven. Thank goodness I 'read' the instruction sheet two weeks after I received my set. I could have made a horrible mistake thinking I could cook on the stovetop with this set, like I could with the original Corningware.

Big difference and significant ones!

These pieces were bought for my wife as a Christmas gift and I did not think they would, but they stole the show from all other gift. All she could say is they are perfect, plus the GO FROM THE OVEN RIGHT TO THE TABLE. She is already looking to add to the collection. I would recommend these for anyone that is looking for quality corningware with a flare.

Great product! Perfect size for a nice medium sized roast. Stores well in the bottom drawer of my range. Color changes to a darker red as it gets hot, but goes back to original color when cool. Would love to get more items in this color and style.

I received this two piece set recently and could not be more pleased. They are not only functional but beautiful as well. Easy to carry and clean-up is a breeze!

I have been looking everywhere for these casserole dishes and just happened to find them, in the color I wanted even, on Amazon. I bought them for my daughter as she loves the set I have. Thank you, Amazon!

I bought two of the 2 1/2 quart round casserole dishes, I really liked them. My neighbor lady used one, one time and told me she really liked them too. So I went and bought her this set casserole dishes. Said she couldn't thank me enough for buying these for her, that she really loves them. I know I really love my 2 casserole dishes too.
