5.0 out of 5 stars Great Loaf Dish
The extra depth and weight of this loaf dish make it easy to let breads rise higher (without going over) and the stoneware makes it bake very evenly. It is easy to get stuff out (I use a little PAM).
I bought two and I am very pleased.
(Plus they are attractive enough to server in!)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not made like the original CorningWare. It is what it is.
It is Iron Ware. Very basic looking. Does the job. Easy clean up. Very Heavy. CAN NOT be used in microwave, on top of stove, or broiling. Just for baking, or as a seving dish. Can't let it soak in the sink to long or will craze if used for baking and not fully dried, because it absorbs water at it's base. Iron Ware last forever; just don't drop it. I thought it was the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Loaf Pans, February 10, 2007

If you are serious about baking bread, then this is the loaf pan for you. They are slighly larger than the normal glass loaf pan. Although you may find a less expensive glass loaf pan, this perform very well and will hold those recipes that tend to go over the top of a small loaf pan. They are more expensive that other glass pans, but nothing beats a hot loaf of bread coming out of the oven, done to perfection, and these loaf pans are great.

Can't let it soak in the sink to long or will craze if used for baking and not fully dried, because it absorbs water at it's base. Iron Ware last forever; just don't drop it. I thought it was the original CorningWare, not just the brand name on this version. I looked at the reviews, which were excellent, and I should have read the product description fully. My bad.

I will look on the internet for the old kind. They of course will be used, but I have a number of original items, and been using them for about 38 years. None broke even though some were dropped. You can go directly from the freezer to stove top, oven, broiler, and microwave. Oh well.

This loaf pan was great. I made pumpkin raisin bread, came out of the pan easily. The pan cleaned up easily also. Corningware holds up nicely also.

I purchased two, they came today. I had to make a loaf of bread to try one out. Absolutely marvelous, evenly baked, had risen higher and fell out of the dish easily (I too had used a little Pam, maybe not necessary?) I gave my old metal pans to Goodwill. It's truly amazing what a heavier , well made pan will do. Great item.

This loaf dish is great for baking banana nut bread or any other of your choice. I especially like it when I cook a meat loaf as it doesn't stick as on other loaf pans I have. In my busy days, I need dishes that don't need a lot of scrubbing.

I'm attempting to complete the CorningWare french white set and love the latest addition. Yeh, I know; what's so special about a loaf dish; they all do the job, right? So, in such cases, most people buy what catches their eye. The simple white, classic styling appeals to me and was definitely the primary reason for purchasing it. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to get two of them at the time (most bread recipes I've found and use usually make two loaves). Who knows, maybe I'll get another one for Christmas. ;)

It arrived in very good time and my order was over $25 so the free shipping didn't hurt either.

A little deeper than the average loaf pan, so the bread is supported a little better as it rises. Makes a good crust.

My son wanted bread pans just like mine - but the cornflower design is practically an antique so I bought him a pair of these French white loaf pans. They are the perfect size to allow for high loaves and produce a very nice, crisp crust. The chef was pleased!

I was glad to be able to find some corning ware products on amazon. Corning ware is such a good performer! And it's so easy to clean, too.
