5.0 out of 5 stars Corningware Pop-Ins Mug Set Solves a Problem, August 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: CorningWare Pop-Ins 8-Piece Mug Set (Kitchen)
Living in the "Snow Belt" of Central New York, we have long cold winters, which we love. However, the frigid air presents a problem in serving food hot, even in a well-heated house. Corningware has finally solved that for us with these pop-ins mugs. Holding 22 ounces, which makes for a more than generous serving of stew, soup, pasta, casserole dish, etc., meals can be prepared ahead and individual portions frozen in these mugs to be served at a later date. Just pop into the microwave and set the timer for your individual serving of Beef Stew or Special Chili or Chicken & Pasta, etc. It's a marvel, quick, easy, and looks good in the presentation. These mugs are also great to use for making puddings and custards, oven to freezer to microwave to the table. We love them and are ordering more to have on hand before the cold weather arrives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peaches recommends these mugs..., December 15, 2001
This review is from: CorningWare Pop-Ins 8-Piece Mug Set (Kitchen)
When I drink tea, I want a large mug because I like tea, but more importantly, I share my tea with Peaches my pom. She likes to lick the last tablespoon from the bottom of the cup (I drink it British style with cream and sugar). Most mugs large enough for Peaches' head are too heavy for me to lift comfortably with one hand (I have arthritis in my wrists). These wonderful mugs are large enough for Peaches head, light as a feather (well, okay, a heavy feather), and the tea stays as warm as it would in a porcelain cup (a good thing as I forget to sip my tea when I am reading a good book or writing an Amazon review).

The other night we ate chili in the mugs. I made the chili the day before, refrigerated it, and popped it in the microwave. The lids don't pop off or go on as easily as I would like, but that has more to do with my wrists than the product. I did not buy the cups for their covers, however, I bought them for tea with Peaches, so I'm giving them five stars.

I have been looking for a large coffee mug all over the internet and ... YES ... I found it in this set. It is well made, microwaves well, gives me enough coffee to wake me up and it is resonably priced. I highly recommend this mug-set to anyone ... KHS 'The Old Stove'
