I bought two sets (8 containers) of these about 3 months ago, and I absolutely love them. The shallow dimensions make them equally ideal for casseroles and cuts of meat, and their smaller size (a nice 2 cups) helps with portion control. They're much more durable than plastic lunch containers, and they can be reheated over and over without any signs of wear. I highly recommend these; I'll never go back to plastic!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great way to take leftovers for lunch, March 11, 2009
This review is from: CorningWare Pop-Ins 8-Piece Oval Bake and Serve Set (Kitchen)
This corning ware product is great for individual servings. I'm very busy so often cook on sunday for the week. I put about 8 servings into these dishes and freeze for the week. If I'm too tired to fix something when I get home I pull a meal from the freezer and it's ready to go. I don't like to reheat in the microwave in plastic. I think this is a much healthier alternative. They are also the perfect size for one serving. They are sturdy and last just about forever incuding the cover. I haven't had the same luck with other products. They would be a little difficult to use for an older adult however because the top on the newer version is more difficult to remove. CorningWare Pop-Ins 8-Piece Oval Bake and Serve SetI've used them for several years and they are my first choice for my busy life style.

I love these for leftovers, as the re-heating process is simple. Just pop open the top and microwave. I have no trouble getting them on and off and have had hand surgeries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Say goodbye to plastic-ware!!!, March 28, 2010

Great product. I might would rate this 4.5-4.75 as I have found that the lid easily picks up coloring from tomato based foods. I typically will place a piece of wax paper or Press 'N Seal wrap over the corning-ware before placing the lid on if I have tomato based meals to store. Overall no other complaints and the size is perfect portion for leftovers to use as lunch.

I ordered these thinking they were the 23 ounce version of the pop-ins, they are not they are about 2/3 the size. I have 3 of the 23 ounce version. The bigger ones are great for me for taking a lunch to work because I can put all my lunch in there, a meat and a couple of sides. Unfortunately if you are like me and like to stuff as much as you can into as small a space as you can, you end up breaking the lid. Yes, I broke 3 lids. I had been using them for about 7 years before without a problem.

These were a replacement for the bigger ones. The smaller ones can't really fit a full lunch inside of them, probably a meat and maybe one side. That's not great because now I'll need to carry 2 of them to bring a full lunch. They also aren't as thick (i.e. durable) ceramic as the bigger ones.

I can't really complain about them except for the size. They work fine otherwise.
