Fantastic,

We bought this for the in laws to use at the condo because it stacks and is light weight. Our in laws love it and the last time we went to the condo my wife used and she loves it too. They are all fantastic cooks and love the way it performs even at high altitude.

Dishes are great, the lids not so much.,

The new SimplyLite dishes deliver what they promise. They are considerably lighter than the traditional CorningWare sold in the past. The French White ones are more attractive than these but also more difficult to remove from a hot oven as they have no handles. Neither do these, but they do have a sort of lip around the edge that makes removal easier. At that point you can place them in the cradles which do have handles. Please note that the cradles are not oven safe. The primary reason they didn't score higher is that the glass lids are heavy--heavier than the dishes, in fact. Worse yet, the heavy lids do not fit securely onto the dishes and will easily slide off unless the dish and cradle are carried in a perfectly level, horizontal way.

I love this! Really helps my joints. The plastic cover that comes with this set is really hard to remove, though, if you have problems with your finger joints.

Plastic Lids Extremely Difficult to Remove,
By Sparkler 2000 "Sparkler 2000" (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: CorningWare SimplyLite 10-Piece Bakeware Set (Kitchen)
I purchased the SimplyLite Bakeware set because it had attractive lines, it was lightweight and because I liked having the option of using the provided plastic lids if I wanted to stack filled containers in the fridge or the provided glass lids if I was warming or serving. Unfortunately the plastic lids are exceedingly difficult to remove. I noticed that one reviewer thought that her arthritis contributed to the challenge of lid removal but can confirm that even without arthritis these lids are extremely difficult to manage. I did go back to the retailer where I bought the containers as I thought I must be doing something wrong when I was putting the lids on. The retailer confirmed that I was using the lids correctly but suggested I let them warm up a bit to closer to room temp before removing. That strategy did not improve the situation. I am very disappointed in this product and, after spilling liquid stored in the container and pinching my fingers for the umpteenth time when trying to open, I am getting rid of the containers. It is so frustrating to invest in an otherwise attractive looking product made by a company that is usually so reliable only to find that I wasted my money. To anyone considering this product I would suggest you consider another option.

I have used a couple of the pieces and I really like it. It's so much lighter than the old stuff. I hope to buy more pieces so I can get rid of my old heavy pieces.
