This is a small book and the print is not very large but it's a great history of sweaters/knit frocks worn by the people on the coastal area of Cornwall. The patterns are very good graphs and the photos are old and very good quality. A window into the past and the knitters and who lived in those Guernesy sweaters. I will enjoy it over and over and will also use it to design and knit my own guernesy sweaters

This book serves as a superb companion to Patterns For Guernseys, Jerseys and Arans, by Gladys Thompson.

There are great personal stories along with history of the area, and the history of knitting in coastal England. I enojoyed the seeing the patterns in the pictures of the people wearing their "Ganseys". The patterns and instructions for creating Guernseys are well-written and clearly explained.

I devoured it in one sitting, now am going back to start the patterns!

This book is superb, both as a source of historical information and as a knitting guide. It has beautiful old photographs, informative text, and clear and concise knitting patterns with very easy to read graphs. It is one that you will return to again and again.

This is not just a knitting book. It contains stories and photos of the people in Cornwall, where there is a long tradition of knitting for the fishermen.
