4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price, so far
My son will soon be a big brother, and he's been fascinated with babies because of all the talk of a new sibling. I decided to get him a doll, and our first one was an inexpensive Circo hard plastic bath doll. She's cute and durable, and my son responded well to her. However, she's not good for cuddling. So, I decided to splurge on a Corolle. I'm so glad I did...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice doll
Got Suce Pounce blue and Bebe Charmeur last Christmas for my two little girls. One daughter specifically requested this one because of it being a "boy" doll. The pajamas he comes in are very soft and cute, and he/she has lovely soft brown eyes. Smells wonderful still. I rate him slightly lower than Bebe Charmeur though, as her body feels more real and she can sit up...

The pajamas he comes in are very soft and cute, and he/she has lovely soft brown eyes. Smells wonderful still. I rate him slightly lower than Bebe Charmeur though, as her body feels more real and she can sit up on her own. Otherwise they look very similar. My daughter was completely happy with him/her (put it in a dress, looks like a girl baby). But as a mother, I compare the two dolls, and I personally prefer Bebe Charmeur's feel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price, so far, April 12, 2010

My son will soon be a big brother, and he's been fascinated with babies because of all the talk of a new sibling. I decided to get him a doll, and our first one was an inexpensive Circo hard plastic bath doll. She's cute and durable, and my son responded well to her. However, she's not good for cuddling. So, I decided to splurge on a Corolle. I'm so glad I did.
This doll has a soft body with a weighted bottom, and even though the limbs and head are plastic they are yeilding. It feels much more like a real baby than the Circo. My son loves hugging the doll and he treats this one much more gently than the other. Even the adults have enjoyed this doll - it really is very comforting to hold. It's an excellent doll to encourage nurturing behavior.
I was really considering getting an anatomically correct doll, since I find the blank gender to be a little weird. The Corolles get around that by having the stuffed body look like a onsie - this one is white with the Corolle logo on it.
My son is a tall 2 1/2 year old, and I was worried that a 14 inch doll would be a bit small for him, but it's a great size. The Corolle is a bit bulkier than the skinny Circo doll as well, even though they are both 14 inch overall.
Finally, I was never much of a doll person, even when little. Dolls often creep me out. Not this one. He's charming, and realistic without falling into the uncanny valley.
I was very hesitant to purchase because of the price, but this is really a quality toy. He's already been washed (on gentle, in a lingerie bag, air-dry) and looks new. And of course, seeing my son be such a good brother-in-training was well worth the splurge.

The Corolle Classic Baby Doll is a great choice for your little one. It is a beautiful baby that is comfortable to hold and also to sleep with. Clothing is easily put on and off. The pacifier and bottle fit into the mouth. My little girl loves this baby! I would highly recommend it for all of the little mommies out there! This is our second Corolle baby doll - the quality greatly exceeds most other dolls...

I bought this doll for my two-year-old son with the intention of introducing him to the idea of a new baby coming into our home. He has been interested in baby dolls for a while (one of his buddies has a couple of them), and I was really sad and frustrated by how a vast majority of the dolls available in stores are very obviously marketed for little girls (with brand names like "Little Mommy" and all-pink packaging). Also, almost all of the baby dolls available in stores are baby girl dolls.

This Corolle doll is beautiful and very well-made. My son absolutely adores his baby doll, named him (the same name we picked out for our soon-to-be-born second son), and takes him everywhere. My only complaint is that the pacifier is a little difficult to insert in the doll's mouth, but it's really not that big of a deal. I also wish Corolle (or any other doll company) would make some gender neutral accessories. The company's diaper bag, high chair, etc. are clearly designed with girls in mind.

This is a great doll, and I would definitely purchase it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Baby for Big Sister, June 23, 2009

We purchased this doll for our 18 month old Grandaughter. She has a new baby brother and we thought this would help her when Mommy brought the baby home from the hospital. She now pretends to feed the doll when her Mommy feeds the baby. She carries it around with her when she feels the need to. This is a high quality doll and just the right size for our toddler.

5.0 out of 5 stars My son loves his baby!, December 20, 2010

My son received this doll for his 2nd birthday. Before that time, we got him a cheap small baby to see if he is interested in baby dolls. He carried around that one, but was not super into it. For whatever reason, whether it is the size or the look of this one, he loves it! He enjoys putting the baby to bed or getting him up, we have a bottle he feeds the baby, gives the baby "big hugs" (and gives his baby to us to do the same) and goes to sleep with him every night. It's great watching my son becoming a caring nurturing little boy--baby dolls aren't only for little girls! The baby has a light scent that is not bothersome (and I am often bothered by artificial scents). The mouth does not open wide enough to insert the little toy bottle we bought separately, but my son doesn't seem to mind. It can't sit up without leaning on something. I love the details on the doll, including realistic looking hands and eyes. It is challenging finding a doll that is not specifically marketed to girls and has pink or purple on it, and this worked well.

Our 5 year old granddaughter would soon become a Big Sister. We thought it might help if she had a baby doll close to the size of a newborn to care for while her mom was busy with her new baby brother. Looks like we had a good idea...she loves it.
