5.0 out of 5 stars Kids love it! Great for kids with autism-spectrum disorders
My daughter, who has nonverbal learning disability (an autism spectrum disorder that affects executive functioning and small and gross motor skills), has taken this and it has given her more focus along with vitamin supplements.

If your child is like mine and has a very small variety of foods that she eats (she also has texture issues), this fish oil is great...

2.0 out of 5 stars We tried...
My 9 y/o daughter really wanted to like this. She tried them by themselves for a couple of days but couldn't stand the taste. She decided to try them in lime or lemon flavored yogurt with hopes it would blend well. She gave that a try for a couple of days too-- but just couldn't stand the taste anymore.

My daughter, who has nonverbal learning disability (an autism spectrum disorder that affects executive functioning and small and gross motor skills), has taken this and it has given her more focus along with vitamin supplements.

If your child is like mine and has a very small variety of foods that she eats (she also has texture issues), this fish oil is great for providing the fat that they do not get. In addition, I give her a complete multivitamin by Nature's Plus Animal Parade (with iron) and L'il Critters Gummy Vites (no iron). I've also been giving her a Probiotic called Buddy Bear by Renew Life. It's a chewable orange-flavored tablet.

Because she is a vegetarian and does not eat enough protein, I also give her Smoothy King's Gladiator Strawberry Powder to make smoothies. It has 45 grams of protein and few carbs. My daughter has a high IQ and is in a gifted program, but she has really been struggling with her attention. I really think it was because she was starving her brain and not eating enough protein, iron, or vitamin B.

She was anxious and nervous all the time. She had never ridden a bike before (she's almost 10), and after several weeks of this regimine, she has told me that she feels more focused and in control. She started riding her bike this weekend for the first time without the training wheels.

I really believe that it's because of the fish oil. The consistency is like a paste. It's a very tart lemon/lime that smells wonderful and does not taste or smell like fish oil. Even my three-year old likes it.

Your child will like it too!

Although their dad describes the flavor of this as being what he imagines it tastes like to eat Lemon Pledge, all three of my kids LOVE this product and ask for it all the time. I thought at first they simply enjoyed the novelty of eating out of the package, but after two weeks of daily "Mom, can I have one of those green things again?", I was sold and now I'm signed up for auto-delivery. With all the hype about how Omega-3 can help eczema and allergies (which my five year old has) and ADHD (a problem for my 8 year old), I'm thrilled to find a supplement my kids will actually take.

We tried. OMG, we tried and failed miserably! My 8 y.o. daughter HATES, absolutely hates the taste of this product. I have tried mixing it with honey, sugar and finally resorted to giving her nutella immediately afterwards to rid the taste from her mouth. Since I have had marginal success giving it to her, it has been difficult to test its effectiveness. Seems like a great product, but a God aweful taste.

This product was recommended by my child's teacher to help with focus for my intelligent, but ADHD, 2nd grader. It's only been a month of taking it and I don't see that it's an instant miracle cure- but I do think his focus does seem a little better. It offers sustantial amounts of omega 3 in a form that is easy to take- and without high fructose corn syrup or other questionable additives that some chews & other supplements have. Overall, I think it's a great product and plan to continue with giving it to him.

As for taste, the orange is better than lemon lime. It's not great but it is tolorable.

I give it to my son on a spoon (without the option to not take it),followed by a drink of something to wash it down. He Lately he says he's okay without the drink and he's "more used to it now". This is a much better option than a pill in my opinion for a kid or adult.

The price on amazon is very reasonable for what you get. I would recommend this product & seller.

I have found this to be the easiest way to give Omega 3 to my 8-year old son for his ADD. He likes it better than all the other forms I have tried, and it works ALL DAY to keep him focused.

5.0 out of 5 stars My son loves it but....,, October 14, 2008

or should I say his poor butt. I think it has caused him to have frequent, loose BM's. Too much info, I know, but he took the stuff three days in a row (AND LOVED IT), but then started having bowel issues. I'm not sure if it's related, but I would imagine this stuff could have a laxative effect. I stopped giving it to him. I'll update when we try it again.

Received product quickly. Both my 6 year old son and 5 year old son did not like the taste. I am now finishing off the product and it is not bad tasting to me but it is marketed for kids, so I guess it is not a success in our house.

My 6 year old is ADHD, so I am trying to find a high quality fish oil for him. We have been taking Lil Critters Omega 3's for years, but is has a low amount of DHA and EPA which is what you really want in an Omega 3. My kids are now trying Dr. Sears fish oil and kids strawberry & lemon flavor and the kids can take that right off the spoon.
