Corona's professional heavy-duty bypass lopper seems to be the Cadillac of loppers. A grand 36 inches long, with tapered hickory handles, the lopper has blister-deterring nonslip grips. The forged Radial Arc bypass blade has a 2-1/4-inch-diameter cutting capacity. The lopper also boasts a slant-ground hook with a self-cleaning sap groove for consistently smooth cutting. We have to admit, however, that we're really wowed by the neoprene ShockStop shock bumpers. Side by side with other bumpers we've tested, the ShockStop shock bumpers prove to be distinctly superior in effectiveness and durability. This is the largest version of the heavy-duty bypass lopper; it also comes in 30- and 26-inch models.

I've used this for 2 years cutting heavy brush (multiflora rose) that i needed to clear to put up fences and plant trees. It has nicely finshed metal, very sharp, cuts powerfully- far easier than the discount store models. I was worried the wood handle would be too fragile but it cuts so well that it has been not an issue. When you hit a piece of stock too thick to cut through, the wood handles flex and warn you before you reach a breaking point. And it is MADE IN USA!

Just got loppers today. NOT made in USA. Assembled in Mexico from parts from USA, Taiwan , and Vietnam. Will keep them anyhow. Next pair will be Hickok, all USA and better made.
