The Corona Clipper compound-action bypass lopper offers three-times the cutting power of conventional loppers. The unit features a re-sharpenable, Teflon-coated high-carbon steel blade with a 1-1/2-inch cutting capacity and is designed for a fast and precise shearing action, perfect for tackling dry and woody growth. The articulating four-bar compound linkage triples its cutting power (compared to standard loppers), and the blades are replaceable, making this tool an ideal choice for multiple-season use. The unit's outside blade features a slant ground hook with sap groove. Other design features include 24-inch fiberglass handles that add extra strength and leverage, while the fiberglass handles also resist weathering. A really nice tool,

This tool behaves exactly as advertised and then some. The handles are super comfortable, even after using the tool all day. The compound action really does make it easy to cut through even the largest branches and vines. The rubber stop prevents jarring. This is the best lopper I have ever used.

This is a solid tool. With hollow fiberglass handles it weighs almost nothing.I do not however recommend this tool for the small yard homeowner.These are very big and awkward loppers. With 24'' handles you really get the reach out of them but,in most cases this size lopper is just too large.It is a fine quality tool that will last a lifetime if maintained properly.If you intend to just putt around the yard or garden doing seasonal pruning. This tool might not be your best bet.Amazon offers a big selection of corona tools so, find the tool that fits your needs best. Now get out there and do some major pruning.

This worked wonderfully when I first started using it.
I quickly cut branches I would have sawed before or for which I would have used the chain saw. After two months, the lopper stopped cutting all the way through the branches. It left a little strip connecting the two parts. I think the heavy sheet metal hook bent away from the blade, leaving a gap between the two. It still cuts easily for 90% of the thickness, but it always leaves a ribbon joining the two. For infrequent or one time heavy use, this should work fine. Do not plan on using this lopper for a lifetime. I suggest considering the professional loppers from Corona.
