These do an excellent job and are well worth the price. They are sharp and easily cut most anything up to about 1/4 inch thick, as much as 1/2 inch thick with some effort. The shock absorbers work well. The long reach is a real back and time saver. Because they are so long and have heavy steel blades, they would not be suitable for a small or weak person. They gave my wrists and arms quite a workout, and I am a 200+ lb. brute.

I marked them down one star because I think the blades are softer than they should be. The first time I used these I was cutting with some enthusiasm and hit a branch that was too large. The corner of one of the notches on the top blade bent down and caught in the bottom blade, and the shears would no longer close. I had to use a file on the flat side of both blades to remove the bent area and get them working again.

For cutting larger branches I have used the Felco F21 shears for many years, they are definitely a 5+ star item.

I have a difficult tall hedge off a deck which was just outside my reach, even though I am tall with long arms. Efforts at finding long handled hedge clippers to deal with the problem at Home Depot, etc. were to no avail. Purchasing these from Amazon was the solution. I did find even longer handled products used for topiary on English web sites, but they were very expensive and required international shipping from an unknown seller. These were moderately priced, sturdy, comfortable,sharp and LONG. I couldn't be more pleased.

This works perfect on palm plants. The long handles keep your hands away from the sharp limbs/leaves. This tool should last a liftime. Mine came with red handles, not green as shown in the pictures.

These clipper with long handles & blades are great for edging & trimming. Best of all- no backache from bending.
